SPOILERS: "Under God"

DISCLAIMERS: Wolf Films and Studios USA/Universal Television own Law & Order. I'm borrowing everyone for this story and I'll put them back nicely in their action figure boxes when I'm done. No harm, no foul.

FEEDBACK: Please!

Green: It's a 40 buck cab ride from your place? Briscoe (evil smile): I didn't say I was at my place ---Law & Order, "Under God"

"Time is it?"

"3. Go back to sleep."

Lennie Briscoe opened one eye at the touch of a hand against his cheek, felt the same trigger finger callus he had. "Why're you up so early?"

"My partner paged me. There's some big deal going on by the Fulton Fish Market. All the Narcotics officers from Crackdown were called up. Dealer we're trying to take down may be there." Mike Logan dropped to one knee beside the bed.

"Damn." Lennie met Mike's weary hazel eyes.

"Tell me. I was looking forward to waking up with you in my nice warm bed. Now Jackie and I get to go freeze our asses off with the dead fish."

"Price you pay for being back in Manhattan."

"Smart ass." Mike rolled his eyes.

" 'S why you love me." Briscoe slid one hand into the inky hair, drew Logan forward for a kiss. When they came up for air, he smiled. "Be careful."

"Always. I'll call you later, tell you how the rest of my week's playing out. We're due for another run of graveyard shift."

"Tell your captain she's playing hell with our love life."

Mike snorted. "I'll be sure to pass that on. Alarm's set for 6. Get some sleep."

Lennie's hand dropped after smoothing the dark hair back in place. "Say hello to your lovely partner for me."

Mike got to his feet with a creak of the black leather car coat he was wearing in lieu of his old familiar brown. "Will do."

Lennie watched him move toward the door of the bedroom, wondered again what good he had done in a past life to get Logan back in this one now. "Hey, Mike--kick the shit out of a coupla dealers for me."

The predator smile flashed in the half-light from the window. "I'll do that. See you later."

Briscoe settled back into the bed as he heard Logan leave, snapping the locks behind him. Even a night with Mike cut short was definitely worth the cab fare into the 2-7 in the morning.
