Again, she appeared in his dreams. She walked around, the sun struggling through the gaps between the branches of the trees. It seemed like she turned to him, and he tuned into her eyes.

A slight pain pricked at his mind. He heard her laugh, feeling familiar, comfortable even. But he blinked and it was gone; he found himself staring at his ceiling. Unlike the girl's eyes, he felt nothing for the ceiling. The dull color held no candle to the girl's startling gray eyes.

He looked at his bedside table. The hair clip resided in his sights once more. Percy had been trying to rid himself of the hair clip for the past few days, but to no avail. The hair clip always appeared to him, which made him feel uncomfortable. Was this a sign that he needed to clip his hair?

Percy decided to pay no mind to the hair clip and got up from his bed. The village he lived in was a quiet one – rarely anything happened. When he turned thirteen, he was assigned to be the village fisher. He didn't mind this; he loved being around the water and the fish. But the job required him to get up early in the mornings, before the sun had even risen. It had taken a year to get his body acclimated to waking up before sun arrived in the sky.

He grabbed his rod and stepped out of the house, careful not to wake his mother. Like his mother, the city lay asleep. The sky was still dark, and Percy could see a glimpse of the moon. On the opposing side, the sun began to appear. It seemed to chase after the moon, connected by fate but never destined to be together. Such sadness graced the sky every day, suggesting its grieving heart through its dark hues. It knew that the sun would never be able to catch the moon.

Percy felt similar to the sun. He had a feeling that he would never be able to reach those gray eyes.
