Summary: Josh finds Drake kissing a blonde somebody, but all is not as usual as it seems.
Author's Notes: I'm a bit nervous about this one. It's my first D&J fic. Please please please don't flame.

Josh enters their room to see Drake making out with somebody on the couch.

Okay; he can deal with that. It seems like every time he turns around, Drake's making out with somebody. Josh doesn't know half their names, and he doubts Drake does either, but he doesn't care and Drake doesn't care and even the nameless somebodies don't care. So it's all good. He can handle it. He's even walked in on Drake making out before.

It's a blonde somebody.

This he can deal with too. Drake tends to go for a slightly higher number of brunettes than blondes, but blondes really aren't unusual. Josh remembers the Pancake Girl and shudders. Individual blondes are unusual, but as a category, they aren't, he amends.

So, Drake making out with somebody: okay. Drake making out with a blonde somebody: also okay.

It's the fact that it's a blonde somebody who happens to be a guy that throws Josh for a loop and makes his stomach flip-flop in ways he really doesn't want to examine right now.

Instead of quietly backing out, Josh stutters out an apology, causing Drake to pale and shove the other guy away.

The guy looks annoyed and stands up. "I'm leaving." He looks down at Drake, still sitting on the couch. "I don't guess you'll call me."

"Probably not," Drake replies, glancing at Josh.

The guy's scowl lessens. "Hey, I get it," he says, then slips past Josh and into the hallway.

Josh crosses the room and stands beside Drake. "So…wanna explain what that was about?"

"Wasn't it obvious?" Drake asks, standing up though not meeting Josh's eyes.

"No," Josh replies gently. "It was obvious that you were making out with that guy. Not obvious why."

Drake shrugs. "Because I wanted to."

Josh sighs. "You're gonna make me ask, aren't you? Fine. Drake, are you gay?"

Drake swallows. "I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I'm bi though." He glances sideways.

"Okay." Josh shrugs again, then catches Drake's extremely relieved look. "Hey, what did you expect? That I'd freak out and be grossed out and say I hated you?"

Drake looks up into Josh's eyes. "I wasn't sure."

Josh pulls Drake into a hug. "Idiot," he says. "You're my brother." He ignores the little inward wince at that last word. "How could I?"

"You won't tell Mom and Walter?"

Josh shakes his head. "Of course not. You need to be the one to tell them, if and when you're ready. "

Drake smiles. "Thanks."

Josh shrugs yet again, and carefully ignores the butterflies that appear in the wake of Drake's smile. "No problem."
