Chapter 1

"Just one minute and we'll know if you're pregnant or not, "Johnny said to Ponyboy who sat next to him on the tube facing the sink where a pregnancy test laid.

"Hopefully not, "Ponyboy said biting his lip as he eyed the sink as his hands began to shake with the possibility of dealing with he wasn't ready for. He's never really been around a baby and the thought that he could be with child unnerved him a bit more than he thought be.

"Why?" Johnny asked.

"Well for one thing I'm too young, plus Sodapop and me haven't talked about kids, I don't think he wants one, "Pony placed his head in hands and let out a sob at the thought of Soda leaving him. He tried not to think about it but he did and kept on seeing himself with a crying baby and no body to help him. He knew he'd be lost without his brother/lover and it hurt so much just thinking about Soda leaving him.

"Soda will want this kid, "Johnny said rubbing Pony's back, trying to help his best friend feel better.

"How would you know, I could be pregnant and Soda won't want anything to do with me or our baby, he'll probably say it's not his and break up with me, then I'll be alone and have to take care of a kid on my own, "Pony cried out in a distressed way

"Soda loves you and will love this kid, "Johnny said giving his friend a long hug. Pony looked up at Johnny and rubbed his damp eyes as he calmed down a little. His eyes were red and sore from crying. He let out a hiccup before speaking

"Really? "Pony asked rubbing the back of his neck in an unsure way.

"Yes, it's been a minute, "Johnny said looking at the test, "It's positive. "

Ponies grabbed the test, looked at it and began to cry again, "My life is over."

"No it's not, just because you pissed on this stick and it was positive doesn't mean it was right, "Johnny said trying to calm Ponyboy down.

"Yes it does, "Pony said crying harder. Hot tears came down Pony's face like rain. Pony began to hiccup.

"No, it doesn't, it says right here on the box that whatever the result is, it could be wrong and to go see a doctor, "Johnny showing Pony the box. After he read the little side note he calmed down a little.

"Okay, what now? "Pony asked looking at Johnny for ideas.

"Tomorrow we'll go to the doctor's and see if you are pregnant, but for right now you need to stay calm," Johnny said. Pony nodded and rubbed his eyes for moisture. Johnny gave Pony a couple pats on the shoulder for support.

"I think I'm going to lie down," Pony said as he began to walk sluggish and uneasily to his room. Johnny walked behind him to make sure he didn't faint and made sure his friend was comfortable before going home. Pony stared at the wall for a long time before falling into a restless sleep and woke when he heard the front door slam. His heart begin to beat faster because he knew Soda was home

"Pony, you home? "Soda yelled walking into the living room.

"Yeah, I'm in our room, "Pony yelled back sitting up. Soda walked to their room and smiled at his breathtaking lover.

"Hey Pony, you feeling better? "Soda asked concerned. Pony nodded and let Soda feel his forehead.

"How was your day at work? "Pony asked smiling at his brother.

"Good, you're not warm," Soda said as he began to get out of his work clothes.

"It was probably something I ate," Pony said as he eyed Soda's form. Soda nodded as Pony licked his lips with want.

"I got the next two weeks off, "Soda said

"Why? "Pony asked.

"It's my vacation time, "Soda said. Soda turned around and bent down to kiss Pony. They kissed each other with much longing and love

"I love you, "Pony said.

"I love you, too, "Soda said getting in bed and kissing Pony some more.
