Hey, this is the sequel to Honda and Backstories (go read it right now, else none of this will make sense. Well, it might, but I won't get near as many hits that way). Quick recap:
Honda is sad because he doesn't have a backstory, so Jou says they can make one up.
Told you it was quick. Now read!
"So I'm the illegitimate child of a ninja and a samurai who was abandoned because neither of their societies accepted me? And I am a master of both ninja-ing and samurai-ing?
"Don't forget how you've lived for 250 years, cursed by your own ninja mother, and cannot lay to rest until you find true love."
Honda shook his head in disbelief. "That is possibly the most unlikely backstory I have ever heard in my life."
"Not true," Jounouchi countered. "I specifically remember one backstory where the main character lives with abusive relatives that he got stuck with because his parents were killed by a dark sorcerer who vanished when he tried to kill the main character and failed for some cheesy reason or another. Oh, and let's not forget that this main character was actually a wizard unbeknownst to his self, not to mention a container that harbored a piece of the dark sorcerer's soul."
"Touché," Honda admitted. "…Still, I don't think this will work." He glanced over to the table about 20 feet away. In it sat a lonely and very lovely lady who looked to be about two to three years older than him. The plan was for him to go over, all cool like, start up a conversation using his spanking new backstory if he had to, get her number, and get one of her friends' numbers while he was at it (that last part was for Jounouchi).
"Trust me. It will work. It's doubtful a guy has used the pickup line we've got planned yet on her," Jounouchi assured his friend.
Honda raised an eyebrow, but said nothing more. Sure, it was very likely no guy had tried "Hey, I'm the illegitimate son of a ninja and a samurai" on a girl before, but there might be a reason for that. A reason such as it was incredibly stupid.
Then again, what did he have to lose? This was one girl, a girl he'd never met before in his life. Who cared if he got rejected? He heaved a sigh.
"Fine, whatever," he muttered, standing up. "Let's do this."
"That's the spirit!" Jounouchi exclaimed, slapping his friends back as Honda passed by. "I'll be watching, so don't screw up!" Jounouchi suppressed a snicker. Honda was most likely about to get bitch-slapped. This was going to be hilarious.
It could happen. You can disprove Honda's new backstory, so it could be canon for all you know. xD
And part of his backstory, I just realized, is like the backstory of this one other character from a show that lasted about a month. Can't remember what it was called, just that it was interesting until I learned his backstory. Basically he's a young-looking detective guy who's lived about a hundred years in New York and he can't age or die until he finds his true love. Sappy, but....
And yes, Jou was describing Harry Potter xD Seriously, I love Harry Potter, but when you really think about it….
