Disclaimer: Yuugiou (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters) is the property of Takahashi Kazuki and respective publishers, including Shueisha, Studio Gallop, Nihon Ad Systems, Toei Animation, 4Kids, and others. I would never claim to own it or attempt to make money off of it- just think of this as a written, free doujinshi and hopefully we'll get along fine ;)
Dream
It's nothing but a dream.
While it may be real in some senses, it is still an illusion: the same as the illusory cards from his first duel with Yuugi- easily recreated by holographic technology, after all-, the same as the Seal of Orichalcos, and the same as that 'World of Memory' which that occultist Bakura had invited him into. One may enter them and take in the experience; however when it is over the real world will once again be there, everything returned to its original state.
The occult is just like digital images in this way: illusions for all that they can still be seen by human eyes.
So Seto pays no heed to the images he sees. Mist that glows as if lit in the dead of night, pale flashing limbs, and hair which imitates the scales of his Blue Eyes…they are simple illusions, and all illusions fade.
He could claim that he is overworked, hallucinating due to exhaustion, but he does not. Kaiba Seto is always in control of himself (regardless of what he might have been in the past), and he will not fall to such excuses for his weakness!
No, the woman is there, that he acknowledges. He hears her whispers, made up of advice and the occasional quiet reproach, with always the roaring of a dragon in the distance, and Seto-sama, Seto-sama, Seto-sama.
He ignores them and returns to his duties, overseeing his company, designing new technology, and watching over his younger brother. Mokuba has no inkling of these visions which plague Seto, and that is as it should be. Mokuba doesn't understand their transience, how weak they truly are in the face of a living man's will, and would not be willing to ignore them if he knew of their existence.
However Seto-sama, I will seek out and protect only you…
The Blue Eyes White Dragon is the reality, not the lost memory of a woman who gave her life to become it.
Seto will not give his life to a vision.
AN:
Yet another drabble... I really must be in the mood for them at the moment.
"However Seto-sama, I will seek out and protect only you." Canon quote, from episode 214: "Keredo Seto-sama, anata dake wo mamotteru sagasu."
