FBI FEDRAL WARNING OF COPYRIGHT INFRIGMENT…that's a lie I live in Canada but now that I have your attention: As with my other Ophelia's point of view fictions (I suggest reading them first) I use the blocking line cuts etc. from the production I'm in but this note is less relevant as there is no blocking for dead people.

This is actually a song so if the scansion seems off, trust me it all fits in when set to music.

Ophelia observes her funeral and speaks to her mourning brother from the beyond

Brother

Brother, don't shed any tears over me

I'm finally at peace, I can fly, I am free;

Take care of yourself we've been through this before,

I just won't be waiting on earth anymore;

Don't let the lifeless prevent you from living,

Though you feel anger exhibit forgiving;

Cherish your memories; don't let them fade

But don't dwell in mourning, forever dismayed.

You guided me firmly you helped me along,

You taught me the difference between right and wrong;

You heeded with caution; took care like no other,

I'm proud to be able to say you're my brother.

Don't let the lifeless prevent you from living,

Though you feel anger exhibit forgiving;

Cherish your memories; don't let them fade

But don't dwell in mourning, forever dismayed.

I suppose in my madness I said what I could,

Though with flowers my missive was misunderstood.

I wanted to thank you for all that you've done,

Remember and think of our laughter and fun;

Don't let the lifeless prevent you from living,

Though you feel anger exhibit forgiving;

Cherish your memories; don't let them fade

But don't dwell in mourning, forever dismayed.

I know you can't hear me; you're deaf to the dead,

I just couldn't leave all of these words left unsaid;

It hurts me to see that I've caused you such pain,

And this message I speak is imparted in vain;

But if by some miracle I can be heard,

I implore you to listen and follow my word:

Don't let the lifeless prevent you from living,

Though you feel anger exhibit forgiving;

Cherish your memories; don't let them fade

But don't dwell in mourning, forever dismayed.

I'm sorry; I'm sorry, please don't be upset,

I love you, my brother, don't ever forget.

So…: I tried to make it fairly straightforward but if you have any questions, comments, concerns etc. I'd love to hear them. The only thing I will mention is if the line "Remember and think of our laughter and fun" sounds a little choppy in your head, it's because I had to use those terms Remember = Remembrance = rosemary, think = thoughts = pansies
