Scared Of Losing
A/N I had this in my head since yesterday and had to write this. I hope you like.
It was early morning as Elisa woke up. She had heard strange sounds coming from her friend and brother's room. The brown furred Psammead saw her brother's bed in a corner. Izz was still asleep with the covers around him like a protective cocoon.
She felt his grey furred forehead and it was very warm.
She remembered the last few days that Izz hadn't been himself and she'd thought something was very wrong. She hoped he would be okay.
"Maybe he's just really tired but that's not it.
Something's wrong with him." she thought sadly leaving Carley and Izz's room.
She went downstairs and found Leah in the kitchen making breakfast. The twenty year old was on Spring Break from college. She smiled seeing Elisa walk in.
"Morning Elisa.
You okay?
I'm making pancakes.
Maybe it'll get Izz to eat something.
He hasn't eaten in a while and he refused to eat the last few days and nights which have me worried along with Carley but she thinks he's ill and I'm beginning to go along with that theory." she told her.
Elisa nodded in reply.
"I-I think you're right.
I went to see him and he was in bed covered up like he was in a cocoon. He has a temperature." the brown furred female Psammead replied drinking orange juice.
But she was worried for her brother. Izz had never been sick before and now he was since they'd came here.
It scared her to think of that.
"Don't worry it's probably the flu.
Humans get it all the time." Leah heard David say as he entered the kitchen. But Elisa was worried as she ate but went upstairs with a plate of pancakes to Carley and Izz's room and opened the door.
".....Izz..... you awake?" she said softly as she heard gentle moaning and coughing as she pulled back the covers and saw him weak with blue spots over his fur and sneezing and coughing.
His body hurt and he had a fever.
"Elisa..... don't come near me, okay?
I don't want you to get ill too." he said as his head ached. It hurt to open his eyes and look at something but he could smell the pancakes but wasn't hungry but thirsty. Elisa smiled as he drank some juice.
His throat hurt too as he talked.
"Rest, okay?
I hope you'll be okay." she said leaving the room.
Leah was curious about why the female Psammead was sad.
"Izz has blue spots all over his fur, his body hurts and coughs a lot and it hurts him to talk.
I-I'm scared for him.
He was never sick in Aria like this but I hope he's okay." she answered.
"Maybe it's chicken pox or something like that." she said to her as the brown furred Psammead went out for a while. She loved being in the woods near the Robert's house.
Tears filled her green eyes as she remembered seeing Izz weak and in bed. It scared her to think that he was ill but she had to hope he would be okay.
But as she went back to the house, she noticed Leah and David there but Carley wasn't there.
"She.... had to do something really important but she'll be back soon." she heard Leah say but she ran upstairs to Carley and Izz's room and opened the door in worry but her worry was confirmed as she saw her brother wasn't in his bed.
"She must've went to seek medical help in Aria for Izz.
Please let him be okay!" she thought leaving the room and went into hers and listened to music while she lay on the bed. But Leah saw sadness in Carley's blue eyes as she returned from Aria.
"You okay?
Is it to do with Izz?
Will he get better?" Leah asked softly.
"He has a serious case of Psammead pox and he mightn't be able to leave the infirmary for a couple of months because it's so serious but there is hope but Elisa will be sad." she explained sadly as she and Leah were on the couch talking.
"I know but she is Izz's sister.
She should know." David replied eating a Dorito.....
