"This is so disrespectful."
He sits, legs crossed beneath each other, on the floor. Eyeing the beds before him. No matter what anyone says he will have that top bunk. And the only way to get it is through,
Kaiba.
Violet clashes with cerulean. And Seto is standing, towering over Atem. Despite the fact that Atem would be one to swipe his leg out from underneath him and send him rushing towards the ground.
He half expects it.
"It's mine."
Atem states such, deadly calm. He is exhausted. Which leads to irritation and perhaps maybe even Seto's untimely demise.
"You wish, Yugi. I called dibs first."
Atem glowers. "You're too tall, how are you even going to get up there?! You'd crack your head off the ceiling first. And as enjoyable as that would be I am not sleeping with a corpse in the room."
There's a deadly gleam in Seto's eyes. "I might consider it."
A snort. "What're you going to do? Slit my throat with your blue eyes card?"
Followed by an evil grin. "Don't tempt me."
Dead silence prevails as the tension skyrockets, each just daring the other to make the first move towards the precious prize of the top bunk. The top bunk was only for winners.
And neither plans to lose.
Atem does the half expected move, his leg shooting out from beneath him and with one long, elegant drag hits Seto in the ankle. Whose ankles knock together and down goes the tower of a man, only to catch himself in a dramatic pose halfway towards the ground.
Atem grins, and gets three steps towards the bed when his arm is yanked backwards.
Falling on one's ass is never a graceful move. All the more embarrassing in the presence of your arch rival.
"Nice save, Yugi."
The millennium puzzle has another dark purpose so he realizes then and there.
It's capable of being thrown five feet, into Seto Kaiba's lower back.
Down again, and not to catch himself this time. Atem smugly retrieves the puzzle, hopping over the form of this fallen enemy. Most likely in need of medical attention but that's not too important, after all it was the smooth side and not a sharp corner.
Seto grabs his ankle from his resting place facedown on the floor. Atem grips to the nearest bedpost. The ultimate tug-o-war ensues.
Viciously yanking at the duelist's ankles, Kaiba cares not if he rips his legs off. Yugi got the window seat of the helicopter but he is not going to get the top bunk of this bunk bed. And Atem starts kicking his legs, like a child with a temper.
Atem kicks hard so Seto learns in this ten minutes of dramatic life or death struggle. And yet, when he is able to pry him actually off the bed they fall backwards so violently that Atem nearly bites his tongue upon descent.
Both land in overly dramatic poses.
"We're not sharing." Are the first words out of Atem's mouth as he drops his arms from their splayed out pose.
Seto nods in agreement. "We're settling it with a due-"
Something flies past and the only thing that comes to mind is what in the ever loving fuck. Because Yugi or rather Atem is sailing past his head, vaulting his entire body onto the top bunk. Smacking against the wall but successfully landing sprawled on the top.
"First come, first serve. I touched it first."
Words come out breathless from not only impact but the action itself. Seto snarls.
"Yugi!"
"Kaiba!"
Upon no longer hearing shouts and banging noises, Jounouchi deems it safe to check on his friend. Just in case.
Horrifying to see, neither are on the top bunk. Nor the bottom bunk.
Both are sprawled on the floor, asleep.
It was better not to speak of it. Pale, he decides that loft beds are a good idea. Maybe next time they'll get two of those.
