Sweet Revenge
Brought to you by , "If It's Crap, We'll Tell You!"
Author's notes: I hate the Mai Hime Manga. It is a mess of poorly explained plot points, random characters that serve no purpose in the over all narrative, characters who have unclear motivations, mindless devastation, pointless nudity, and at the center of this epic failure is the lamest love story this side of the Star Wars prequels. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I'm sorry, I just have to get this off my chest.
Warning- If you are one of those people who liked the Manga, I have nothing personal against you but I really believe that the Manga is full of fail and you might be better off leaving. For everyone else, let me show you how I think the Manga should have ended . . .
Dan sat up late at night pounding the keys on his laptop with uncontrolled vigor. His attention was riveted on his latest project, the new Strawberry Panic! Manga. Sure, there already was one out in stores right now available at most book stores, but that one was lame as far as Dan was concerned. The old Strawberry Panic! missed what the fans truly wanted, things like giant robots, explosions, zombies, and heterosexual romance. Yes, Dan truly was a revolutionary, boldly going were others dared not venture, even when those same people told him not to. Dan knew full well that some may not accept his vision. Well, that was just how the world went, Dan supposed.
But this time, he would get it right. In this retelling of Strawberry Panic, Nagisa, Tomao, and all the others would return from winter break to find three bold men in their late twenties naming themselves after famous video game characters. As the series progresses, each girl would madly fall in love with one of those men, resulting in some serious love triangles, or in some cases, love squares! Dan was a man who believed in change, changing things in the Anime so that some fans got a variety of new experiences. Even if it did mean loads of hate mail like he got from most of the Mai Hime fan base.
Sighing, Dan couldn't understand why his unique vision of Mai Hime was rejected. All he did was break up one of the most well-known Yuri couple and replace it with one of the most juvenile romances ever written. Wasn't it enough that Tate was the main character? Dan shook his head, sometimes, he didn't understand women. Maybe this was why he was thirty-eight and never went out on a date . . .
A polite knock on the door interrupted Dan's thoughts. "I wonder who that could be." At first, Dan thought it might be friends, but he quickly remembered that he didn't have any of those. The knock came again, this time more instant. Dan's eyes widened. Maybe it was the IRS coming to take him away for all those taxes he never paid. Dan made his way to his bedroom leaving behind his office/kitchen/dining room/guest bedroom.
It was a good thing Dan hid, because the stranger wasn't messing around anymore. A fist crashed through the cheap wood paneling, then unlocked the door, permitting her entry. The figure walked in, combat knife at the ready. She looked around, scanning the studio room for her prey. She didn't find him, so she stealthy moved on to the bedroom. She found him cowering underneath his bed sheet. Dan tried begging for his life, but those pleas quickly turned to screams as the blade found soft flesh . . .
Hours later, Tokyo police officers searched the apartment for clues.
"So, what do we have?" Detective Sergay asked as he surveyed the crime scene.
Patrolman Yuki, who had heard the screams answered. "It's one of those assholes who ruined the Mai Hime Manga. It looks like he died from a combination of high cholesterol and being stabbed in the stomach twenty-seven times."
Sergay's eyes narrowed in determination. "Such an act as this should not go without consequence. Gentlemen, we need to find the killer and give her a medal."
