'Oh my, what a disaster,' Tony half-sighed, half-chuckled.
There was chaos everywhere- people scrambling to safety, buildings being smashed by flying trucks, the road cracked into halves. Out of the corner of his suit, he watched as the god of lightning tried to swing Mjolnir at the beast, but before the hit could have landed, the beast froze up and collapsed almost onto Thor. Taken by surprise, Thor backed away two steps.
He cursed loudly.
"YO! THOR!" Tony yelled, zooming past the god. "Just hit the goddamn thing and finish it off!"
"Of course, Man of Iron," he snorted. "You do not need to tell me what I should do."
Without hesitation, he once again raised his hammer. However, this time he was again interrupted. A ray of green light shot over his head, barely giving him time to dodge.
"Holy shi-"
Eyes wide, Thor sprung around and spotted a dark figure casually standing on the roof of a nearby building, whose coat and black hair fluttering in the wind. The man had a huge grin on his face as if he had played a simple trick and was waiting for everyone to figure out what he had done.
"Loki, my brother-"
Loki silenced him with a wave of his hands. "No need to thank me, mortals", he smirked as the Avengers turned their attention to him, now that the monster was dead. Gracefully, he stepped off the building- for a second Tony felt his stomach drop, but Loki landed gently on the ground and strolled towards them.
"Oh dear, is that you, Reindeer Games?" he asked with a curious tone, covering up his unintentional shock.
Steve on the other hand grimaced and held up his shield.
Others were not all that please to see the trickster.
Clint scowled, bow raised. "Stop where you are, Loki," he spat out.
The god of Mischief simply tilted his head, looking innocent. "Long time no see, Agent Barton," he said as he continued walking. "How do you fare?"
"I said, stop!" He yelled, visibly shaking with angry. His finger twitched.
"Well." In the blink of an eye, Loki teleported right next to the fallen beast. "I don't really want to cause much trouble today- it has been a tiring week," he said dismissively. "I am here merely for the beast."
"The beast?" Tony found himself asking. "What? Are you behind all this?"
"Oh, no, I can't possibly take credit for this mess," Loki shook his head. "The horns of this monster are what I am after- it's a rare ingredient indeed." With a wave of his hand, the horns were summoned into Loki's hands.
"Brother-" Thor attempted again.
"Now that I have what I have come to get, I shall bid you all farewell," Loki ignored Thor, bowing once and vanished.
For a long time, the Avengers stood in shock.
"Can someone explain to me what just happened?"
