Snow
A ray of light streamed through
From a winter sky that's not yet blue
I left my dreams with a drowsy sigh
The gleam caught my sleep-filled eye
A cloak of silence consumed all
Gone was the wind's unrelenting call
I knew, deep down, that wonders await
But to witness them - is an inevitable fate
I rose silently, cautious, and slow
Eyes transfixed on that silver glow
Afraid to disturb the tranquil peace
Worried, for it might quietly cease
A startled gasp, a delighted cry!
White flakes falling from a velvet sky…
One of the few miracles I could know
Was this creation – snow!
Yet, a wistful longing bloomed within
Wild, free, devoid of sin
All that I've ever wished to be
But which are no longer truly me
It must be wonderful, so true
To come as flakes, go as dew
Guided by destiny's gentle breeze
Hearts untouched shall never freeze
If only I could be another one of you!
Following the path where wind blew –
To dance through a short, meaningful life
Without the sacrifices, the senseless strife
Take me, as you drift down from the skies!
Take me, into a land with no disguise
Take me into your world without dismay
Take me too, as you finally melt away…
