Harry sat, thinking. Thinking about what life could have been. What life should have been…
He saw himself sleeping in a large squishy bed… But it wasn't his bed at Hogwarts. The room was rectangular, not the circular tower room he had at school. The room was larger than his room at Privet Drive, too. It had a larger wardrobe, a larger desk, and a separate table for Hedwig's cage. Furthermore, his desk had his books, parchment, and quills on it, rather than hidden away in his school bag or under the loose floorboard under his bed. Suddenly, the door of his room opened the slightest bit and a strip of light fell upon Harry's scar less forehead. There was a snicker from outside of it, but the daydream Harry stayed asleep. Suddenly, the door burst open and two identical twins with long black hair of about five shrieked with laughter as they ran into the room and jumped without hesitation on top of Harry. He groaned, grabbed a pillow and stuffed it on top of his head. One of them was sitting on his stomach, the other on his legs. They both started bouncing on him. Suddenly, there was a sort of low growling sort of noise coming from underneath the pillow, and then "RARRRR!" Harry rolled out from underneath the two little s, who shrieked with laughter and supposed . Then he reached up and grabbed both of them, tickling their stomachs. They continued to laugh, but suddenly he stopped.
"I think," he said, staring at them with serious eyes, "That I need some help giving you two tickle ," at the last few words, his face split into a wide grin, and they once again started shrieking. He grabbed one of them under each arm and carried them, still screaming with laughter, down the stairs and into the kitchen, where his dad sat reading the Daily Prophet, his mum making breakfast with a chubby red-haired boy of about a year on her hip. His mum turned around at the noise, but then turned back to what she was doing, rolling her eyes, after she had seen Harry.
"Dad," Harry said, still holding them at his sides "Reckon you'd like to help me?" James Potter stood up and grabbed one of the two and he and Harry spent a few good minutes tickling them until they were out of breath.
"Alright," Lily said as they started in on another round of tickling, "that's enough; you all need to eat breakfast! We have to go into Diagon Alley today to get Harry's school stuff!" She handed Harry his Hogwarts letter and sat down to eat.
"Harry? Harry, are you okay?" Hermione was looking down at him, concern in her eyes.
"Wha- Yeah," he said with a sigh.
"Well, Mrs. Weasley said it's time for dinner," she said, still eyeing him suspiciously, as if she didn't believe he was telling the truth.
"Right. I'll be there in a minute," he said, looking out the window. He heard her leave the room, and thought about his "daydream." Well, he thought, It's what I could have had.
