Ok, I was bored, and my friend asked me to write this, so…………….
Shilya and Enlil sat near the creek, their hands clasped together. And then Enlil looked Shilya in the eyes, and then got down on one knee.
"Shilya, I love you, and I promise we will never be apart. Will you marry me?"
Tears formed in her hazel eyes as she wrapped her thin arms around his neck.
"Yes. Yes, I will."
And so the two began their life together. They set up a small home in a cottage near the woods. Every night, Enlil and Shilya would walk to the top of the hill near the woods and look at the stars. And every night, Enlil would hold her in his arms and whisper in her ear that he loved her. She trembled in delight every time she heard those three small words.
They were always together, no matter what. Until the night of the fire.
Shilya was sleeping on the couch, waiting for Enlil to come home. She woke up, hearing the door slam.
"Enlil? Honey?" she called out.
"Shilya! Get out!" Enlil yelled, running in. He dragged his wife out by the hand. Smoke stung her eyes. She gasped in horror. The forest was on fire! She screamed as a burning branch fell, separating her and her husband.
"Enlil!" she screamed in terror. There was no response besides the roar of the fire. She tried to scream again, but smoke filled her lungs. She gasped, falling backwards, down the hill. The world went black.
Shilya awake, lying at the bottom of the hill. She stumbled up, shrieking in pain.
"Enlil? Enlil!" she screamed. Then she saw it. His burned, broken body, just lying there. Shilya scrambled over, sobbing.
"Please wake up, Enlil. Please!" she wailed. But there would never be a response.
Shilya buried Enlil on the top of the hill, where they had watched the stars. She sat down by his newly made gravestone, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Good-bye, Enlil. I will always love you." she murmered, touching the gravestone. Rain fell softly on the grave. Life must go on.
Well, that sucked, I'm sure. I wrote it just to get out of writer's block anyways and for my friend. Please review!
