Sasuke: I'm so cool

Me: your name is weird. The spell checker didn't like it. Lessee, if we made the spell checker happy you'd be…Suzuki Chichi

Sasuke: ignites chidori

Me: and that on the spell checker is chicory. Anyways…I don't own naruto, but I'm saving up for gaara. He's freaking awesome, even though he doesn't appear in this fic.

Sasuke: are we done yet?

Me: Yes. Ahem.

Deny Me Not Thy Beauty

Deny me not thy beauty. Those were the words he had spoken to me in my head. I had control of my limbs, but I felt no inclination to struggle as he led me on and on, down through the dark tunnel.

I did not know what lay before me. Was it a tomb? Was I to be locked forever away for his enjoyment? I had no way of knowing, but nevertheless I followed Sasuke Uchiha. I saw the red in his eyes, and the black snake-like marks covering his skin, and yet did not draw away from him.

The hypnotic echo of our feet treading on the stone floor made my mind blur. The torches in the brackets on the wall drew together, so that there was a line of fire on either side of me. All the while Sasuke led me down, down…

"Sakura…" he finally whispered as we neared a closed door, "What you are about to hear will disturb you, but–"

Then came the bloodcurdling shriek. I shuddered, and leaned against Sasuke. He tensed, but did not push me away.

"Sakura, you need to help them. Orochimaru's prisoners. I know you are the only one who can do it. I have been planning this for a while, but…"

He looked at his hand, which was covered in black marks. They had started glowing, but in a sickly way.

"They burn me when I come down here, so I must leave you. Orochimaru will most likely kill me when he finds out, so I don't know if you'll see me again."

Deny Me Not Thy Beauty. Those are the words he had said in front of Orochimaru to me. The undead ninja had probably taken it a different way than meant.

Sasuke's lips were pressed to mine in a scared kiss. It was in that moment I was able to feel his pain and fear. It lasted only a second, but that was enough. The black marks receded.

"Sasuke…" I said softly.

"I'll try to find you if Orochimaru doesn't kill me," he whispered. I could hear the pain in his voice now. He must have really hurt from those marks.

Something pressed into my palm. It was a ring. Before I could look at it, Sasuke had gone, and the torches had gone out. Faced with no other choice, I pushed open the door to complete the A class mission I had set out on.
