Hello fellow leokumi shippers new and old (and to-be/coughs). Welcome to my series of leokumi drabbles ehehe! I'm not used to writing such short and concise one-shots, but I'm doing my best here! Hopefully, as I continue writing them they'll get easier to write and better from experience! For now, just enjoy and please leave any thoughts in the comments below!

Leo watched the man in front of him like he was something unfathomable. His gray hair fell in front of his face and Leo brushed it behind his ear. He looked up at Leo and his eyes smiled, then fell back to the chess board in front of them.
Despite thinking he knew the other, Leo did not know him at all.
Takumi moved a piece. Leo easily captured it. "Checkmate."
The former groaned. "One day we'll play shogi, and I'll be able to wipe that smirk off your face for good."
You could do it now, he thought-no, pleaded with his eyes. Leo nodded. "It's only natural," he said, lips curling into a grin.
He watched as Takumi put his chin in his hand, watched as his hair fell in his face yet again, watched as his eyes narrowed from staring at the board, watched as his nose scrunched up from thinking, watched and watched and watched.
"Checkmate."
Chestnut eyes were suddenly staring into umber ones and Leo felt a blush creeping up his neck. As he looked down, he realized that Takumi had captured his queen. How he had let that happen, he did not know. But there was one thing he knew for certain.
He did not know Takumi after all.
