This is my first time writing with these two, and my second Tales of Symphonia story. I hope I kept these two in character for the most part. :D Thank you for reading! And I hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I own nothing except the idea.
A woman wearing a black and green cloak and white stockings turned to face the giant tree behind her. The warm breeze played with her soft long green hair. Sighing happily, she delicately placed a hand on the newborn tree, making sure its mana patterns were correct. It was important to make sure this single tree remained at a certain mana rate, as it was the only way for this world to survive. If it died, so would the world, and because it was just a young sprout, it would had rough years ahead. This woman was its guardian in ways. The pale woman smiled lightly, and smiled at the vast tree, as the wind continued to flow through her hair, disrupting the vibrant green leaves that hung from her pointed ears. She stood there, so engrossed in the scene in front of her, that she didn't hear the footsteps of an approaching person. Suddenly, something was in front of her, and pulling her into a tight hug. The woman yelped in surprise, but for some reason, she felt safe in this stranger's hold. It seemed so familiar. She attempted to look up at the person holding her. She was able to get a glimpse of the person's blue hair. The blue-haired person pulled back a little, and the woman was able to see the person's face. The man before her had long blue hair, pointed ears, and green eyes. Then it hit her. She knew this person.
"Y-Yuan?" Her soft, melodic voice asked.
"Yes, Martel?" He smiled.
The woman named Martel threw her arms around Yuan, smiling widely. She buried her face into his chest.
"I never thought I'd see you again," She whispered.
They stood their talking, and enjoying each others company for quite a while. Soon they let each other go, and sat down to look at the beauty of new world around them. They sat there for hours, talking, laughing, and enjoying themselves. The time slipped away, and soon it was well past midnight. They were both getting fairly tired. The said their good-byes and the bluenette promised to come back sometime the next day.
Short story is short. O.O It's a quick one-shot I got the idea for one morning while listening to Imperfection by Skillet. XD I don't know how that worked. But the plot-bunnies kept bouncing around, and I just had to write it.
