The sunset slowly crept up from behind the lake and orange and red beams fell on the smooth water. Two teenagers sat quietly watching as the orange ball of fire got brighter and higher every second. Birds chirped as they began their morning scavenger for food and the owls cooed softly in their sleep. The taller teenager had his arm wrapped around the second. A frown was placed upon his pale face and a few loose strands of black hair fell across his face. "Lily?" He asked in a small voice. He kissed her cheek and moved his arm away from the girl.
"Yes?"
The boy smiled and shoved his hands into his sweatshirt pockets. Slowly he pulled out a little velvet box, to big to hold a ring but to small and narrow to hold a necklace. He handed it over to the girl named Lily without a sound and waited for her to open it. Sliding it open in one shaky motion the girl raised an eyebrow as she pulled out a red ribbon.
"The first time we met, you dropped this." He wrapped it around her wrist as a blush crept up his face.
"James you are so sweet!" She exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around the boy's neck.
"As soon as you left the train compartment, when Sirius wasn't looking I grabbed it and put it into my pocket." James grinned as he ruffled his hair.
"I forgot I even wore ribbons that day!" Lily said pulling on the ribbon now tied to her wrist.
"I didn't."
James wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. She lay back into him and smiled as they continued to watch the sun rise. "James?"
"Yes, my love?"
"I love you."
James paused and pulled away from the girl. He put his hand under her chin and pulled her closer to him. He leaned in and kissed her once softly and whispered, "I love you too. And I always will, forever and ever. No matter what happens I will always have feelings for you."
"And no matter what I will always have feelings for you too." Lily intertwined her fingers with James and leaned in to kiss James again.
She put her head on his shoulder as James wrapped his arms around her. As the water shined from the sun and rippled slightly they could not help but know that each other's words were true. They both sighed as each others warmth flowed between them and quietly adored each other.
