Changed
He looked down on her, her body still twitching from bouts of pain. Though he had promised her he would still love her, even when everything had changed, and she had changed, he didn't know if it were possible.
Everything he had loved about her … her smell, blushing cheeks, clumsiness, sleep-talking, even her beautiful but normal appearance…everything that had attracted him was gone. Torn away in the pain of transformation. He knew she would eventually open her eyes and see him beside her – he owed her that much – but he feared that instead of seeing love in his eyes, she would only see his remorse and disgust, hate at himself for doing this to her fragile self, and hating her – irrationally – for letting him.
..ooOOoo..
The pain. That was all she could feel, pain searing through her body, through her veins, into her bones. But, she knew it was pain for a reason – soon, so very soon, she would be with him. She would be able to stand by him and finally know she belonged.
He had told her he would be watching over her, so she knew that when she opened her eyes she would see him, looking down at her, knowing what she can be, wanting her beside him.
So when she finally peeled her eyelids open, woke from her last sleep, and stared into those cold, remorse filled eyes looking down upon her with revulsion, she felt a pain a thousand times worse than the one she had just survived.
..ooOOoo..
Author's Note
Before there are any "what's up with the shortness?" reviews, I just want to say it's meant to be short. 125 words for both … so, yep. I set myself word limits.
Oh and it's quite unrealistic – I know this would never happen.
Thanks for reading!
