Quigley was not looking at the treachery of the slope which he had just climbed up halfway with a great inventor. Ever since he had heard of her amazing inventing skills, he dreamed of meeting the one and only Violet Baudelaire. He never imagined she would be that pretty though. As his mind wandered from the secrets and mysteries of V.F.D., his teenage hormones went into action. He had always been shy, but he felt the need to do something, to let Violet know. He somehow sensed that they wouldn't be together for much longer. As he saw Violet shiver as she caught her breath. He scooted over on the icy ledge and placed his arm around Violet's shoulder.

"You looked cold," he offered her a smile and some comforting words.

"Thank you, Quigley," Violet replied, moving closer and placing her head on the triplet's shoulder. She felt guilty getting close to Quigley like this. She had shared something special with Duncan, not that anything had ever happened. This guilty feeling, however, did not stop Violet as she stared into the deep brown eyes of the handsome triplet.
Quigley felt his heart melt as he started back into Violet's deep blue eyes. Instead of staring, he closed his eyes and placed his mouth on Violet's. She kissed him back, placing her hand on his neck. There was so much more to worry about, yet the two teens were busy being teenagers. Although they had just met, they each saw something in the other that was so irresistible. Violet felt the feeling of butterflies which had arrived when she met Duncan, only this time it was stronger. She kissed Quigley passionately before pulling out, smiling. For the first time in awhile, Quigley let a smile escape his lips.

"I love you, Violet Baudelaire," Quigley said, loud enough to echo, but soft enough that Klaus couldn't hear him below and Sunny.

Violet smiled as she responded with a soft, "I love you, too."
After their romantic bout, the two decided to resume their climb. Quigley broke the silence by saying, "We're going to keep this private right?"

"Of course," she winked as she tapped the candelabra on the icy slope. The two were soon on their way back up the slope, on their way to Sunny.
