Episode: Boston Strangler Redux
"You'd want to know if you had Marfan's Syndrome, right?"
"You did it again?"
The doctor winced. "I just can't help it."
"Well, what are you going to do about it, Maura?"
"Ah. I have found a solution. Online dating sites."
"What?" Jane said, coming up behind Maura, who was sitting at her computer. "Really? Come on, Maura, you don't need something like that."
"I figure if this site can somehow match me up with a compatible match, I will be less likely to drive them away… right away."
"We'll see about that."
Maura scowled up at her friend, who shrugged. The doctor stood up. "I'll be back," she said, closing her computer.
"I'll be here."
Maura left the room, and Jane sat down at her computer. She opened the laptop and found that it needed a password.
"Hmm… if I were Maura, what would I use as a password?"
"I would never use my own birthday as a password. I'd use someone else's."
Jane typed in her own birth date and smiled as she was logged in as Maura Isles. "Oh, and look, you're conveniently logged into that dating site." Jane saw that Maura's profile had several hits. She looked at the first suitor's profile. "Oh, you have mail from Doctor Isles," Jane muttered as she began to type a message.
"You wear glasses. Too bad. I can't date men with astigmatism."
Jane laughed as she moved onto the next man.
"Your limbs are elongated. What a shame. You probably have Marfan's Syndrome. I'm sorry, but I just can't date you."
"Hee hee. See ya," Jane said. She heard Maura coming back and she stood up quickly, focusing her attention on some interesting light fixture.
"I'm back. Why do you look suspicious?"
"Suspicious? Me? Come on, Maura."
The doctor gave her friend a look.
"I'm late for dinner. I'll see you later."
Jane left the morgue and started down the hall, a smile crossing her face. Doctor Maura Isles was smart… but if she hadn't figured out by now that Jane was sabotaging her love life… then she never would.
