Chapter 1
We open to see Derek and his friends (Davis, Kari, Ash, Serena, Dawn, Rebecca, and Jae) on Camomile Island. Who's Idea was this exactly? None other than the idiot… Derek. "Derek, are you sure this is a good idea," Ash questioned, "The last time I was here wasn't that good of an experience."
"That was when you had Sceptile with you, and as far as I know, you didn't bring him, did you?" Derek stated while about to open the door to the Pokemon Center where it happened. Just as he touched the handle, a Meganium charged out and knocked him down, continuing her run, while the others had moved out of the way. "Owwww…"
"What was that you were saying about this time being different?" Rebecca quirked.
"Ok, I was wrong, you happy now?" Derek complained.
"The real question is: what exactly happened?" Serena asked.
"Oh! Are you kids alright!?" Nurse Joy asked.
"Yeah but what's wrong with Meganium?" Ash questioned.
"Oh, Ash it's you!" Nurse Joy said with a smile. Transition to inside the Pokemon Center where the friends were being briefed about the situation. "It all started yesterday around 5:10 when Tropius didn't come to breakfast on time and never showed up here. Than, around 20:19, Meganium went to look for him, and came back in tears. This mourning, Tropius came and apologized for not being here, and then the two got into an argument and that's where you seven came in."
"It's one of two things. Either A: he cheated on her, or B: his romantic love for her was never real," Davis suggested.
"And you got the second idea from where, exactly?" Kari questioned.
"I know a few people outside the digidestined."
"Anywho, Ash, I want you to bring Sceptile-" Nurse Joy started.
"No way! We are NOT going to bring Sceptile here! Do you remember the last time we were here?" Ash interrupted. While everyone was chatting, Derek had snuck off to find Tropius.
"Nurse Joy! Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you-AHHH! Or… maybe… not," Brock, who somehow came out of nowhere, said, before getting a poison jab to his butt, and dragged away by Crogunk (AN:/ I needed some sort of humor in this fic).
"Is he going to be OK?" Serena, Kari, and Davis asks, while Rebecca and Jae were laughing extremely hard.
"Don't worry, this happens all the time. He'll recover any second now," Jae told her.
"You got a lot more traveling companions now, huh Ash," Brock noticed.
"That was extremely fast," Kari stated shocked.
Derek was trying to find Tropius, when he came across a certain Meganium. He was about to just keep walking, until he heard, "Why did he do it?" He looked back to see her crying, and because of what he had heard earlier, he knew exactly who it was.
"*sigh* Sometimes I hate my job," Derek mumbled, "What exactly happened?"
"I don't want to talk about it," Meganium mumbled, as he sat next to her.
"It might help if you talk about it. Besides, I want to help to the best of my ability."
"You can hear what I'm saying?!"
"It's both a blessing and a curse. I can only communicate this way, because I'm supposed to be the guardian of love. I come at either the worst times or the best times. It depends if they're supposed to be together or not. *Sigh* But I do have to admit, I do like being able to talk to my pokemon."
"So I wasn't supposed to end up with Tropius?"
"That's up to your heart, but I'm still wanting to beat him up. I don't take people breaking others hearts."
"... You wouldn't understand."
"What?"
"I said 'You wouldn't understand'."
"... To quote someone I know about; 'How can I if you're not talking? Through Battle. That's how,'" (Tyson from Beyblade G-Revolution, episode 52, when he battled Brooklyn).
"... Alright…" They walked back to the field near the center, and Derek brought out a pokeball.
"Come on out Mew!"
"Yawwwn," Mew yawned, "I was just taking a good nap!"
"Sorry Mew, but I need you to help battle."
"I guess I can forgive you."
"Alright, use Psybeam!" Mew fired the multi colored beam at Meganium who launched her hyper beam to counter attack… or tried to at least. Meganium only managed to for an orange ball, and not the full beam. Derek noticed this as the Psybeam was about to hit, "Use Psychic on your own attack, and send it to the left!" Mew did so, and ended up hitting Tropius, who was in his tree (which went unnoticed by the battlers). "Sorry about that. I guess I forgot what a heartbreak does to pokemon."
Meganium looked at him, panting from exhostion, due to the energy she had put into the faulty Hyper Beam, and replied, "How exactly do know?"
"I remember seeing you reject Sceptile, and his reaction to it."
"..." She didn't know how to respond, due to her having actually forgot about all that.
"HEY, MORONS! YOUR ATTACK HIT ME!" Meganium didn't have to look to know who it was, and Derek could tell from her expression who it was as well.
"Maybe you should've dodged you Farfetching piece of Garbodor!" the Guardian retorted (Yes, he swears in pokemon names). Everyone turned their attention to the Banana Beard Pokemon. Derek's eyes turned to a tidal wave blue. "You got some nerve to do what you did to Meganium," he growled as he brought out Froakie (AN:/ Froakie hasn't had experience except for the three battles).
While he did this, the others came to see what all the ruckus was about. "Is Derek gonna battle tropius with just Froakie?" Brock asked.
"It looks like it, but I don't think we can change his mind," Davis replied.
"He's too much like his father: extremely bullheaded," Veemon added.
"Froakie, get in there and use Water Shuriken!" Derek called out. Froakie did as told, but got hit by Tropius's Razor Leaf. After the attack hit, a Frogadier ran out of the smoke.
"Whoa! Is that Froakie!?" Ash asked in shock.
"How did he evolve so fast!?" Dawn questioned, equally shocked.
"Use Cut!" Derek commanded. Tropius had countered with a Hyper Beam, but just like last time, Frogadier had appeared out of the smoke, as Greninja.
"It's Derek," Jae stated.
"What do you mean?" Brock questioned.
"He means Derek is giving Greninja the energy to evolve at a rapid pace," Rebecca answered.
"But wouldn't that mean Derek's losing power, himself?" Serena asked.
"Aerial Ace!" Derek fired a Bullet Seed, Greninja than becomes Ash-Greninja, while using the Aerial Ace, as Derek copied his movements, knocking Tropius back a bit.
"It's like digivolving. They give energy to each other, forming an evolution," Kari noted.
"It's more than just themselves that they draw power from. It's also everyone that supports and loves them," Terriermon commented.
"Aqua Slash!" Derek shouted. Tropius used Dragon Rage to hopefully get Greninja away, but Ash-Greninja than came out of the smoke in orange fur, with a fiery shuriken. "Let's finish this with Fire Shuriken!" Derek exclaimed.
The shuriken hit Tropius, sending him into the tree, and knocking him out. Greninja turned back to his original form, as Derek threw a pokeball at Tropius. Greninja and Derek than passed out and fell to the ground. "DEREK! GRENINJA!" everyone shouted.
"Is he gonna be alright?" Dawn asked.
"He's just exhausted. Give him a few minutes, and he'll be as good as new," Brock reassured her.
"Actually, the last time Derek exhausted himself, he needed the whole night to recover," Kari informed them.
"Let's get them to the Pokemon Center, and fast," Brock told them.
Meanwhile, in Derek's dream, he was floating with Greninja in a black space. "Where are we?" the pokemon trainer asked.
"So this is the one destined to bring our worlds together?" Arceus questioned.
"Yes, he has been proven to us that he is, on many occasions," Azulongmon told him. Derek and Greninja turned to look at them. When Derek saw them he was too shocked to speak. All of the digimon sovereign were there with Arceus.
"Our time may be short, but we want you to know, Motomiya, that we all trust you. You hold tremendous power, but you and your friends will have to work together in order for the world's to be reunited," Baihumon informed him.
When Derek woke up, he saw that he was in the Pokemon Center. "Thank Arceus you're awake. Do you know how much mom was worried about you?" Becca told him. Good thing it was only her and Jaw in the room. Otherwise, they'd have a lot of explaining to do.
"Where's Froakie?" Derek asked them.
"You mean Greninja? Dude you made Froakie evolve at a massive rate, and unlocked a new Battle Bond!" Jae exclaimed.
"Derek's up?" came a simultaneous response from Davis and Kari, as everyone else entered the room.
"Is Greninja OK?" Derek asked.
"He just recovered. You two were out for at least an hour," Brock told him.
"Thank goodness… What about Tropius?" Everyone looked at each other, not knowing how to tell him.
"... You ended up capturing him," Dawn said, breaking the silence.
"... No seriously, what happened?"
Nurse Joy handed him Tropius's pokeball, telling him, "You threw this at him and captured him, before passing out."
Derek looks at the pokeball, wondering if he already had 6 pokemon, why didn't the pokeball go to Professor Kukui's lab. Ash saw this and told him, "Rotom Dex told us that Kukui upgraded our carrier limit to 12 pokemon, each."
"Well that's cool."
"Here's Greninja's pokeball, but I do want to have you two stay until I know for sure that you'll be alright," Nurse Joy told him.
"I was wanting to stay a bit longer anyways. I may have captured Tropius, but I want to help in anyway I can with Meganium."
"Thank you."
"(You don't have to help me you know. I'm perfectly fine,)" Meganium told him, irritated.
"Your inability to use attacks says otherwise," he smirked.
"He can understand her?" Brock and Nurse Joy asked.
"Yep," the group responded.
"Anyway, I'm going to go send Tropius to Professor Oak," Derek told them, getting up.
"You're insane!" Ash replied.
"Quagsire!" Derek joked.
"I have to agree with Ash. Sceptile and the other pokemon might beat him up even more than you did," Brock told him.
"And I don't really care… though we'd have to tell Bulbasaur to make sure Bayleef doesn't kill him." Everybody sweatdropped at the scene that played in their heads.
"By the way, what exactly happened the last time you guys were here?" Serena asked.
Brock, Ash, Derek, Jae, and Becca looked at each other, and Brock finally told the ones who didn't know, "Ash's Sceptile couldn't use any attacks, due to him having a broken heart."
"What? Pokemon can get affected by their emotions like that?" Davis asked, shocked by the sudden reveal.
"Yeah. But he was able to use attacks again, so all's well that ends well," Derek replied, "Anyways, I'll see you guys later."
