A certain blonde bomber sat, leaned up against a building. His partner stood next to him in his Hiruko puppet. They sat in silence for a bit, then the blonde finally spoke.
"Why did Leader-sama even send us to this pathetic town, hmm?" He asked his partner. There was no reply. "Sasori-danna?"
"There has been unusual activity, and he wanted us to check it out," was the reply. "I hope it's not a waist of time. I hate to be kept waiting." Deidara cracked his knuckles.
"I hope I can get a decent fight, and show this guy some of my art! I can just see the shock and awe on his face as I blow him piece by piece with it, hmm!" Sasori scoffed.
"Those pyrotechnics of yours, art? Hardly." Deidara flipped around with a scowl on his face. "Anyways, who says it's a guy? Or just one? All Leader-sama said was 'unusual activity'. For all we know it could be some weird bandits or some waist of time."
Deidara leaned back on the building, closing his eyes. There was a couple minutes of silence between them with the occasional noises from the common passerby.
Deidara opened an eye lazily as he heard something new. He raised his eyebrow at the sight.
A tall, long, brown haired girl with blonde tips and a nice figure was walking past them. She had a mob of guys following her, circling around her like vultures. They were drunk.
"Hey, babe, why don't you come home with us? We have a nice place you could stay for the night." Was the gist of their slurred words. The girl ignored them, continuing to walk, popping a small bubble of light orange gum in her mouth.
Suddenly, the guys pushed and kicked her into an alley across the way. Deidara straightened up, eyes completely open and focused now. He listened, hearing silent screams and the sound of someone getting punched and kicked. Deidara was tempted to go over and check it out, but he stayed where he was. He glanced at Sasori, who had only barely turned his head to see the result. Deidara turned back, just in time, too.
Two of the men ran out of the alleyway, very minimal bruises on them. Next three more ran out, all beaten up. One tripped, barely able to keep up. Two of those three continued running while the others stayed, waiting for the last of their groupies to come out. He finally did, barely able to walk. His face was contorted and his body was completely bruised and cut up. Two of the men started away while one waited for their boss.
Deidara looked straight forward into the alleyway, curious at what had happened to the woman. He squinted as he saw the darkness shift, and the girl walked out of the alleyway... Unscathed. She turned towards the men. The three started fleeing, but the boss stood firm.
"Bitch," he said, spitting on the ground, right in front of her feet. She looked down, then back up at the glaring man, glaring in turn. Deidara and Sasori watched in amazement as she spit the gum in her mouth out at him, and it zoomed straight at his head, burrowing itself in his forehead. He looked at her shocked, as she turned her back to him. His head suddenly exploded, head body parts flying everywhere around him, and his lifeless body fell to the ground.
The girl glanced at the two Akatsuki, then popped a circular ball of purple gum into her mouth. She started walking the way she came, blowing another bubble, hands in her pockets. Deidara and Sasori stared after her.
"Well, guess we found our 'unusual disturbance', hmm?" Deidara asked, turning to Sasori, who only grunted, then started following the girl. Deidara followed Sasori, all the while thinking about how her gum was like his clay.
