This was something I had to put together for a poetry lesson in English class. He did say that it could be about anything...
Anyway, some of the words are nonsensical words. Definitions at the end.
With a slight spring in his step
He walked his way towards town
But before a last turn
Took a tunnel into the ground
A crash and a boom
Then a crick and a crack!
Someone normal would assume
It best to shuddle* back
But instead he hits a watch on his arm
Colored in white and lime
Aiming to save innocents from harm
He yells, "It's hero time!"
So he swiftly changes flesh
Alongside two friends, Kevin and Gwen
Forcing his DNA into an alien mesh
For the ones that call him Ben 10
A kick, second punch
And then squinnikling* past
The foe has no struggle with these three
Each of his hits harder than the last
But the trio cannot give in
Nor will ever let down
Ben continues to change each skin
Refusing to turn any smile into frown
Hope is almost lost
As he sees stars all around
But with a newfangled sense of power
Just about hits his enemy to the ground!
Two kicks, third punch
And then squinnikling past
Ben has no problem with the immense evil
Each of his hits harder than the last
After what seems like a lifetime
The last blow has hit
Once again, they have stopped the crime
Even if skeptics hated to admit
So as the cousin, hero, and friend
Walk away from the scene
Two of the three pretend
This never happened, though they remain keen
And with a slight spring in their step
They go to the city and roam
But before the last turn
Make their way back home.
End was inspired by Home by Philip Phillips.
