I got the idea from a post on tumblr a while back and I honestly cannot remember where because it looked like one of those blogs that posts little prompts but all I know is I wanted to try angst.

So yee. Time for angsty and sad Bumbleby.

"You are my sunshine…my only sunshine…"

The broken, trembling voice sang out, words shaking the more she continued with the lullaby.

"You make me happy…When skies are grey…"

Bloodied arms held the lifeless body in her hands. Black hair sprawled across the face of the fallen Huntress, who's lopsided smile gave her almost a look of peace in death.

"You'll never know, dear, how much I love you…"

She couldn't focus on anything. Not the pain coming from the missing chunk in one of her cat ears atop her head, nor the multitude of cuts and bruises that covered most of her body. Not the heat coming from the fire of the burning flora around her, and not the stench of the burning Beowolf flesh.

"Please…"

Tears rolled down from the amber eyes, falling straight down onto the smiling face of the girl she loved so much. She tried to choke out the final line of the lullaby, but nothing escaped her lips but choked cries of pain and anguish.

"Blake! Yang! Are you guys okay?!"

"Where are you two?!"

The blackette could hear the muffled voice of her team leader from inside the trees. She could hear their rushed footsteps growing nearer, and could hear the panic in the young redhead's voice. Her teammates then burst through the bushes, being careful of the surrounding flames.

"Please…"

"Blake! Yang, what's wro-"

Amber eyes that were blurred by flowing tears shot up to meet the silver eyes of her leader. She heard the heiress' gasp, and, with her peripherals, saw her bring her hand to her mouth in shock.

Now, the silver eyes began to moisten.

The young leader fell to her knees, staring at the fallen blonde in the faunas' arms.

She couldn't hold it any longer. Her sobs became violent, her body trembled in a way that seemed so unhealthy, so erratic, it shook the bangs off of the blonde's head, only to reveal more crimson, drying blood. She began to rock back and forth, hoping the gentle motions would awaken the girl as a mother would awaken a child from a bad dream.

That's all she wanted. For this to be a bad, bad dream. A nightmare that she could wake up from, turn to her other side, and see the content smile of her lover. To see her chest rise and fall with each gentle breath.

But there was no movement. No rise and fall of a gentle sleep.

Just cold stillness.

Her voice returned, with force, with a pained fury, for just a moment.

"…Please…don't take my sunshine away…!"
