Luna Lovegood walked around the great hall, searching for people she knew. The war was over and many people were dead. Including Voldemort. She was happy for that. Harry defeated him. She always knew he could. Luna was so immersed in her happy thoughts that she tripped on some bricks. But right before she could fall, she felt two gentle hands catch her. "Whoa there, Luna," said a familiar voice. She turned and found that she was face to face with Neville Longbottom.

He smiled at her and she was sure it was painful because his face grew pale, making the scars on his face more noticeable. "Been thinking too much?" Neville said in his most cheerful voice. "Perhaps. I've been thinking about the war. But do you know that Wrackspurts are known to show up after battles? I completely forgot or else I would've brought my Spectrespecs," she said dreamily. Neville nodded, puzzled. He grabbed her hand and led her through the rubble to a bench that had survived the war.

"Listen Luna," he said "I've wanted to ask you something for a while but with all of this chaos and you being kidnapped. I c-couldn't say it. Because I was scared to. I mean your smart, brave, pretty, all the things I'm not so I thought I didn't deserve to ask you this. But I'm going to have to try so um ... Luna would you like to go on a date w-with m-me?" Her eyes widened so much that Neville thought they would roll out of their sockets. "Nobody's ever asked me to go out as a friend!" Neville felt nervous. "Actually I didn't mean as a friend. I want you to be my girlfriend, Luna." Her jaw dropped "Jumping Plimpies! No one has ever said that to me. But Neville I have a question for you, do you believe in Nargles?"

"What? Why?" he asked, surprised. She looked up. "Because there's left over mistletoe hanging over us from when the D.A. secretly hung Christmas decorations to annoy the Death Eaters back in December."

Neville looked up as well and realized that Luna wasn't lying. He felt his face get hot and he started stuttering. He'd expected to only ask her out today not kiss her. Neville stared at her calm face and slowly leaned in. His face was about an inch away from hers when she gently pushed him back. His face burned even more, scared that his breath stinks. But that wasn't the case.

"Do you believe in Nargles?" she asked yet again. "Uh um." he looked straight in to Luna's eyes "Well I um. Luna I believe in Nargles if you do." "I will always believe in Nargles, Neville. Do you believe in Wrackspurts? What about Blibbering Humdingers? And-" Neville interrupted Luna by kissing her full on the mouth.

The kiss lingered for a few seconds and then they broke apart. A smile lit up Luna's face. Neville had never seen her smile like this. It wasn't her usual dreamy smile; it was a really beautiful smile. "Wow! I've never kissed anyone before. That felt good," she said. Neville grinned "Yeah, it did."

They stared at each other for a moment. "Well I'm going to go find Ginny. I need to comfort her and I should tell her I had my first kiss!" she said happily. She started skipping off but stopped suddenly. "Hey Neville?" she called. "Yes, Luna?" he answered.

"Your lips are really soft."

A/N: I really enjoyed writing this, Luna is a really fun character to write and the idea just came to me. Haha that last line was my favorite. Review! Review!
