The wind picked up, swirling the snow around her feet. It was so cold that her breath hung like icicles in the air, but she barely noticed. He was meeting her here.
Tonight.
There were diamonds sparkling in the sky. Under the blanket of newly fallen snow, the city seemed peaceful. A smile graced her lips as she watched the water under the bridge, warping the reflections of the stars until it looked like liquid moonlight. Though she stood alone in the middle of the night in a city that was far from safe, nothing could stop the sparkle in her eyes. This moment is perfect.
Anything is possible under a snowfall.
You've just gotta have a little faith.
He was late. She was alone. But somehow, her heart was still soaring.
You've just gotta have a little faith.
Her face was a beacon of light under the dark sky, her happiness almost tangible as her sudden laugh filled the air. Closing her eyes, she didn't need to hear the crunch of snow under his feet as he approached.
You've just gotta have a little faith, sometimes.
AN: Another one-parter...in honour, somewhat, of the holidays. Very much inspired by the song "Have a little faith in me" by John Hiatt...can you tell ? :) Happy Holidays to all, and to all a good night .
