The cold cot that I laid against showed no mercy to my aching back. Kurt was wrestling stiff, I knew from the very first lock up. Every slam I took shot a bolt of pain through my spine. That was over, I could no longer mope about the past, Truth is, I'm lying up here suffering while Hunter was down there partying with his friends after a successful Monday Night Raw. I loved him, but how could he be so blind? Didn't he know that I needed him? Every fiber in my being wanted to hate him, but I soon realized that he was the one person that I wanted to see right now. As I sat staring at the clock, watching the seconds tick by, my soul ached for Hunter's strong hands against my back more and more. I finally heard the lock release, and the door squeak open.

"Hello love." said a low, defiant voice. "Hunter?" I asked getting hopeful that my lover had come to take care of me. got no answer, instead I got a protesting back as the bed dipped where Hunter was getting comfortable. made the fateful mistake of letting him see me grimace. "What's wrong babe?" Hunter asked as I pulled the covers over my bruised back. "Noting Hunt" I said regretting that I lied to him. "Shawn, I can see right through you." Hunter said pulling the comforter down to my waist to expose my battered back. I could see the look of concern flip to a look of guilt in Hunter's deep brown eyes. "Oh baby, I'm so sorry." He said motioning for me to make room for him. His large frame quickly overtaking my much smaller body as he dug his massive hands into my shoulders. "I'm sorry I didn't protect you Shawn. I love you." He said snuggling his head into my chest. "It's okay babe. I love you too." I said returning the warm embrace. "Forever?" "And ever." And with that, we were fast asleep, soon to awake to each other's smiling face.
