Clare woke up that morning, the sun hitting her face. She turned her head so her eyes were hidden from the bright morning. It was the day. The first day where she had to go back to Eli.
She sat up and sighed, standing up slowly and went to shower. She pulled off her purity ring and pulled her clothes off and got into the warm water, sighing contently. After a while, she got out and pulled on her uniform.
She met up with Alli. "How was your break?" Her best friend asked giving her a giant hug. Clare returned it. "Good!" She smiled and went to walk to school. Ah, 11th grade. She couldn't imagine anything more perfect. They got inside the school.
"Welcome back students, enjoy your day." Simpson said as the tv turned off. Clare looked around, seeing some new faces, and some old. But not Eli. That was good. But she was still nervous about him. But she didn't want too at all.
"Clare? Clare Edwards?" A voice said. Clare unlinked arms with Alli. She looked over at her shoulder seeing a familiar face. Her eyes widened and her jaw hit the floor. "Jake Martin!" She smiled and hugged him. Her childhood friend. "You haven't changed a bit!" She smiled and stopped hugging him.
"You cut your hair, awe boo." He chuckled shaking his head. "You use to love your hair…hey your not wearing glasses either! Grown up aren't we?" He held up his chin with pride.
"I grew up I guess." Clare's cheeks turned a light pink with a silly smile on her face. "So you go to Degrassi now?" She asked crossing her arms over her chest as people walked around them. Girls were whispering wondering who Jake was.
"Yeah. My family missed it over here so here I am!" Jake smiled and hugged her again. Same old Same old, Clare thought as she hugged him. Then their was Eli. Passing them by. His famous smirk across his face, and his eyes alert and watching them carefully.
"I'll show you around, sounds good?" Clare said fixing her bag over her shoulder as her eyes kept watching Eli. Jake raised an eyebrow as the two had a stare down contest. Something was up. But he shrugged it off anyway.
"Yeah, sure." Jake smiled and started to walk with her. Clare noticed Alli left. She bit her lip and showed Jake around, sharing memories in the past. She missed those times, So did he. He wished he never moved. They would have been close as always. Now they had to make up for missing time. So their he was, right beside her.
"Hope you enjoy your first day here." Clare said throwing her arms around him giving him one last hug before the bell rang for first period. He hugged her, giving her a small squeeze.
"Thanks, Clare. See you at lunch?" Jake asked walking backwards before bumping into someone. The auburn haired girl laughed, covering her mouth. "Sorry, Sorry." Jake said looking over at Clare with a sweet smile.
"See you later, clumsy." Clare shook her head walking over to her locker. But got stopped by Eli. "Eli, what do you want." She said.
"You and the new guy, huh." He smirked, watching his ex-girlfriend.
"We use to be best friends back when we were little, now move." Clare kept her head held high, hoping he would. Plus, he did. Stepping aside, Eli watched Clare walk away. He missed her. But he had a plan to move on. He wasn't sure how it will work, but it will. And it will be a plan to win Clare, and get Jake out of her mind. He gave his famous smirk, shoving his hands in his pockets and walked to his homeroom class.
