I really don't know how to summarise it, although the plot of the story is unique. It picks up in 1973, Sam's dad has ran away and now Sam and Ruth are making a fresh.
I do not own the characters, only my ideas.
Enjoy.
'What am I going to do without my Viv? What will Sam do without a father? How can I afford to live? Will I ever see him again?' All these questions spinning around in Ruth Tyler's head.
She was back home, back to all the memories she shared with Viv.
She needed a fresh start, somewhere away from here, a place no one knows her.
As soon as she could, she started packing for her and Sam. 'Oh Gosh, what do I tell Sammie?' she thought as she was throwing clothes into the suitcase as quickly as she could.
A photo dropped out from one of the draws, it was her, Viv and Sam, July 1972. They'd gone away for the week to Brighton. Tears pricked in her eyes as she remembered that day, the fun they had and the laughs they shared. She thought back too much and it all became too surreal, she burst out crying and just sat leaning against the wall.
A familiar voice came from the door. ''Mummy, why are you crying? Is it because daddy has gone away again?'' the little boy asked.
''Yes sweetheart, I just miss him'' she sighed.
He walked up to her and put his arms around her, resting his head on his chest. ''It's okay mummy, I miss him too but, we will see him again one day''
Hearing him say that almost torn her in two as she knew it wasn't true. Trying to fight back the tears was becoming a loosing battle. ''Yes we will Sammie. Now can you be a big boy and get all of your toys packed for me, we're going on holiday'' she cracked a smile, tears still falling down her face.
''What really?'' he said in excitement.
''Yes sweetheart, a very long holiday'' she smiled and stood up.
''Where are we going mum?'' he asked, still extremely happy.
''London I think, it's nice down there'' she smiled.
''Wow, that's so cool! I wonder if they have big police chases because I want to be a detective'' he said proudly.
She ruffled his hair around. ''I know you do Sammie, now come on, get your things together or we will never get gone'' she took her hand off his head and smiled as he ran to his bedroom.
'This is it Ruth, a fresh start, give Sammie what he needs' she said to herself as she packed away all of her things.
An hour or two later everything was packed up and they were ready to leave.
''Wait one second Sammie'' Ruth said as they were standing at the door. She ran back into the kitchen and grabbed the savings that she had kept hidden from Viv. She walked back through to and to the door were a very excited Sam was waiting. ''Come on then'' she smiled and with that they left out of the door and walked down the street, leaving behind the past and moving forward to the future.
By the time they reached the coach station it was fairly late, they just caught the last coach to London.
''Mummy, I'm really tired. Can I go to sleep now?'' he asked, yawning.
She chuckled softly. ''Course you can, seems someone got a bit too excited'' she smiled and let him cuddle into her.
She stroked his hair for a while, thinking about this new chapter of her life. Finally she wouldn't have to be scared of being chased after for owning money, wouldn't have to run away to different part of the country. Just somewhere she could call home and as a security for Sam. He was her priority.
Maybe she would meet someone but for the moment, she was quite happy with just one little man in her life.
I know it's a short chapter but, it just gives an outline to what's going on. Chapter 2 shall be up sometime in the near future. Please review :)
