Title: I left the chill and voice of screams

Author/Artist: Hanyo

Character/Pairing: Sam, Dean, numerous people from the Bible mentioned, Freddy

Fandom: Supernatural/Nightmare on Elm Street

Rating: Ahh…I'd say PG.

Warnings: Set right after Houses of the Holy, so spoilers. And this is just a drabble, so for you SPN people, I don't believe you need to know much about NOES. You pretty much just need to know who Freddy Krueger is. ;) But if you've seen any Nightmare movies (preferably A Nightmare on Elm Street 4; The Dream Master) then I think it'll be easier to get a visual of the setting.

Notes: Title taken from the Angels & Airwaves song 'Start the Machine'. And since this fic in particular is set up in a sort of SPN first, NOES second format, if that makes any sense, I've posted it here, in the SPN section.

Sam couldn't move; it was as if he forgot how.

White light was streaming through the stained glass windows, casting an enormous shadow of the giant crucifix that stood at the front of the altar ahead over Sam. He trembled and looked behind him; the Virgin Mary was in front of the church doors, standing cold and lifeless with a frown on her face and her hands together in prayer.

Gulping, Sam turned back to the crucifix and looked up. The Messiah stared down at him sadly, as He hung from the cross, and only after Sam timidly stepped forward did He start bleeding from the eyes, as if He were crying.

Green eyes widened as the entire church began to shake. The wooden pews were wrenched out of the ground, and the bolts that had held them down shot forward into the windows, shattering the myriad of biblical scenes in the stained glass:

Down went Jacob wrestling with the angel. Down went Rachel and Esther watching him. Down went Cain and Abel together before their offerings. Down went Samuel listening.

Even more blinding light poured in, and Sam screamed when it met his skin. He tried to move, but the Virgin Mary had her stone hands grasped around his neck, preventing him from going anywhere. As he fell to his knees, his vision began to blur. The life was being drained out of him.

As everything finally began to dim, Sam saw It, leaning against Him; burned skin, knives tapping against His bloodied leg, red, green, red, green, red, green…

And at that, Dean's eyes opened.
