AN - I don't own Pokemon, or most of the characters in this story.

This is just something I'm trying, I'd appriciate reviews to help me! Plot ideas are also welcome. Thanks.

"I'm going to come back," he said.
Through blinding tears, I nodded and tried for a smile.
"I promise," he whispered, and with one last shaky smile he turned around and walked away.

"Cass?"

I turned around and the tears spilled onto my cheeks.
I fought back huge, ugly sobs as my best friend Jessie pulled me into her arms. "It's okay," she whispered against my hair.

"No, it isn't," I murmured.
"I know," Jessie said. "I don't know why people say that; it's a load of crap."
That made me smile, and I let her go. "Thanks," I said, shakily.
"S'Okay," Jessie said. "We're together now, anyway; we're going to be amazing!"

I snorted. "You sound like a super-cheesy kid's movie," I grinned, despite the ache in my chest.
"Sorry," Jessie said, sticking her tongue out. "C'mon, Cass, pull yourself together and let's go! We can catch Butch up if we run!"

"You know he's going to Johto," I reminded her. "And we're not."

"Which is why you're crying," Jessie said quietly. "Sorry. I keep forgetting!"

"Yeah," I said. "I noticed."

I took a Poke ball from my pocket and tossed it carelessly. The Butterfree mom had given me fluttered delicately from the ball, and I sniffed. "Pretty," I admitted, "But I do prefer Butch's Raticate."
"Course you do," Jessie said. "You love him..."

I hit her, and she backed away, giggling.

"So... how far did you get with him last night when you were 'saying goodbye'?"

"Jess!" I cried, horrified. "You can't ask that!"

"Sure I can!" Jessie said, blinking innocently. She tossed her hair over her shoulder and ran her hands through it, then took my arm and lead me along the path. "It's a long walk, get telling," she instructed, pushing me in the back so I went first.

"You went round his at... what, ten pm? So you could have fitted in a whole bunch seeing as you slept over without your mommy knowing," she said, winking at me when I turned round, an expression of reluctant happiness on my face.

"How'd you know that?" I asked, regretting it almost instantly as I heard myself whine like a little girl.

"Was obvious," Jessie said carelessly. "You came out of Butch's house, randomly said 'I've just popped in to say goodbye' to nobody in particular, and honey, the back of your hair was all squished in. Textbook," Jessie finished.

Despite myself, I giggled and felt myself blush.

"C'mon, tell me, tell me, tell me!" Jessie grinned. "You can trust me," she added, blinking innocently.

"All right, all right, all right!" I said, exasperated.

Short chapter, I know, but I'm getting into this and there's a Lemon next chappie!! :) :)
