"I never should have let you let me go."

"You were amazing tonight, babe! I especially loved that new song, Montecito." Lily Rhodes exclaimed as she jumped into Rufus Humphrey's arms, who was barely off the stage. "Was it about anyone in particular?"

The blonde winked as Rufus threw his head back and laughed, tightening his grip around her waist. "Oh, you know, just a certain blonde photojournalist who happens to be the love of my life."

Lily giggled and stood on her tiptoes to plant a kiss on Rufus's lips, but they were soon interrupted by his less-than-thrilled band mates.

"Hey, come on, you two-save it for the bedroom." Lincoln Hawk's drummer grunted, and Rufus giggles and rolled his eyes.

"No, seriously, though-we need to head out. We got a long drive ahead of us."

"Yeah, yeah, we're coming." Rufus said, smiling at Lily and grabbing her hand, pulling her toward the bus.

As obnoxious as Rufus's band mates could get, she was grateful for them hustling the couple out of the venue: Lily had some big news that she really needed to tell Rufus privately.

"So I have something to tell you."

Rufus and Lily were sitting across from each other on the king bed at the back of the tour bus, and when Lily said that, she reached forward and grabbed Rufus's hands tightly.

"I'm intrigued," the brunette musician said, and Lily giggled and shook her head.

"Okay, well you have to promise me you aren't going to freak out until I get done telling you everything." Rufus modded reassuringly, and Lily swallowed the lump in her throat and tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear.

"So you know how the other day I told you I went to shoot some scenery at that park in Chicago? Well, that's not...entirely untrue." Rufus looked at her, confused, so she took a deep breath before continuing.

"See, I've been really tired, like more than the normal travel tired, and my boobs have been horribly sore, but I didn't think anything of it until I realized I was really late, so I went to the doctor and, well..." she felt the tears brimming at her eyes, and Rufus's jaw dropped. "It turns out I'm pregnant."

There was an uncomfortable silence in the room when that word left Lily's mouth, and she reached forward and ran a hand through his hair.

"You can say something now." She whispered.

"You're...pregnant." Rufus choked out, and Lily nodded slowly. "Really?"

Lily giggled and nodded faster. "Yes, babe. Would I lie to you?"

Rufus whooped and launched forward, planting a hard kiss on Lily's lips before engulfing her in his arms, giggling uncontrollably.

"I can't believe this! A baby-our baby!" Rufus pulled away and kissed Lily again, before leaning his head down and kissing her barely-there stomach, making tears form in her eyes.

"Hi, baby. It's daddy. Your mommy and I already love so much." Rufus kisses her stomach a couple more times before sitting back up, grabbing Lily's face and kissing her sweetly.

"I love you so much, Lil."

"I love you too, Rufus."

The two of them smiled wide before Rufus pushed Lily gently onto her back, adding more heat to their kiss.

A baby. Their baby. They were going to be parents. They were excited and terrified all at once, and couldn't have been more in love.
