After the glitter faded, Luke and Lorelai began settling into married life. They began packing for their honeymoon to Italy. The annex for the Dragonfly was under full construction, Lorelai was leaving Rory and Michel in charge of the Inn while she was gone. Rory was happy for the distraction. She was busy trying to get circulation up for the Starshollow paper, and she was coming to terms that she was pregnant, pregnant with her engaged ex-boyfriends baby. She was dreading the conversation with him. She knew deep down he wouldn't be like Chris, they were grown adults, not 16 year olds. But alas she told her self she'd tell him next week when Lorelai and Luke got back. She knew it was an in person type of conversation not a quick text, that says "hey I'm pregnant. It's yours".
Rory sat in the living room, working on her latest draft of her book, when she heard the door ring.
"Hey Skip" Rory said as she took the package for him. "Warm fall were having, glad your still in shorts" Rory said as she walked back into the house with the package and mail.
"Mom! You've got a package! It looks like a wedding present" Rory yelled up the stairs.
"Presents?!" Lorelai yelled coming down the stairs. "I love presents" Lorelai squealed. "Was Skip still in shorts?"
"You're a married woman now, you can't be flirting with the mail man anymore" Rory laughed as she poured herself a cup of coffee. "Well are you going to open it?" Rory said pointing to the box.
"Of course, of course." Lorelai said as she tore the package open. To her surprise it was a Keurig.
"Huh" Lorelai said.
"who's it from?" Rory said looking at the contraption, looking for a card, invoice or return address.
"Sender unknown" Lorelai said in a spooky voice.
"It's like the ice cream machine all over." Rory said. "You have a secret wedding gift giver!"
"Ah yes, it seems they like to send impractical gifts. An ice cream maker? Who makes ice cream when Ben and Jerry's is readily available. But this is the most ridiculous gift for a Gilmore ever. A SINGLE CUP BREWING MACHINE? A SINGLE CUP? Maybe if it gloriously made a single pot from one of those pod thingys? Maybe, but I could never do that to Steve."
"Steve?" Rory asked
"Yes, he replaced Mike that last Mr Coffee that broke this summer." Lorelai said.
"So who do think is this mysterious sender?" Rory asked.
"It'll just be one of those Gilmore Mysteries" Lorelai said as she set the Keurig next the ice cream machine in the closet.
"Maybe it was Mr Kim." Rory said as she retreated back to her book.
