R&IR&IR&I

Maura didn't ask me the right question, you know.

When she asked if I thought of anyone before I jumped off the bridge, I answered honestly. I answered honestly because that's what she deserved, and because I can't lie to Maura. I answered honestly too, though, because I hoped it would lead to the next question.

I was in that water for 12 hours. Twelve hours. And let me tell you, 12 hours may pass quickly when you're dreading an exam you have to take in the morning, or a dentist appointment that you know is long overdue, but when you're swimming and swimming, hoping like hell that you can save yourself and the person you jumped in for as well... then, twelve hours can feel like a lifetime. And it gives you a lot of time to think. A lot of time to think, and a lot of time to dream.

Maura asked the question 'did you think of any of us before you jumped?' and I answered truthfully.

But what she should have asked was 'what were you thinking about when you were fighting for your life?'

Because the answer would have been 'you'.

Love to all, Katie xoxo
