Ian was completely fed up with Frank. How could he be so selfish and unpleasant with his own children? Why didn't he give a damn about them? He just spent his whole time drinking and not giving a shit.

Once more, he came back home fucking shitfaced and made a mess everywhere. This time the havoc he created was worse than ever. He had puked up in the kitchen, left the fridge wide open, knocked over the six-pack of beer – probably when he collapsed, and the bottles get broken and the contents spilled out all over the floor.

Ian was the first to go down the stairs this morning and he had to hold back a scream seeing the filthy mess. Two days ago, while Frank was absent for some time, they had decided to clean up and tidy up every room in the house. And now, they did all this for nothing! He was so desperate when he saw him lying on the floor that he just ran off the house, almost jumping to avoid the puddle of puke.

Once he was outside, he just took his head in his hands and began to moan. These times nothing was going well and he couldn't bear it any longer. Where should he go now? The only thing that used to cheer him up was something that he wasn't allowed to have: Mickey.

All he could think was Mickey. He was the only one that could keep his heart warm. The only thing that could let his mind run free. The only thing that lighted a glow in his eyes. The only thing that could make him smile like an idiot. And what fools they were, both of them!

But, he had an excuse. And his excuse's name was Mandy. She was his best friend, right? So it was perfectly natural to rush at your best friend's house when something wasn't good, wasn't it? And that's what he did.

In front of the house, like every time, his heart began to grow heavy, just like it was close to blow up. He took a deep long breath and went up the stairs to the door. The last time he saw Mickey wasn't very great. They had an argument, they fought and the result was pretty bad. Mickey didn't accept to come out and admit that he could love him. Instead he just snapped back that Ian was nothing more than a warm mouth for him and that he certainly didn't love him at all, because, first of all, he liked girls.

Before that, Ian used to not believe what he said because he knew that Mickey wasn't capable of assuming who he was. But after their fight he didn't know anymore. He wasn't sure at all what to think, because Mickey sounded very convincing when he hit him and hurt him without hesitation. Ian had been almost unable to respond.

He raised his hand to knock on the door, but this one opened before he could've touched it. He breathed a sigh of relief seeing Mandy in the doorframe.

"Hey guy, what's up? I saw you approaching through the window and as Mickey is really in a bad mood I'd rather open to you before he did…"

He laughed a little while he walked in, "yeah you did well, last time was pretty intense between us…"

"So what brings you here so early? Are you ok? Lip's fine?

"Um no, I mean yes… well Lip's fine but I'm not…"

She gave him a curious look, "okay, then what?"

"It's… Frank, as usual…"

"Oh buddy! Let's move to my room. Lip told me that he was gone for a while, sorry that your rest has been broken," she said smiling a bit.

"You've no idea."

"I guess you didn't really come here for me, didn't you?" she said as she shut the door.

"Guess half right," he sighed, "I mean I'm happy to see you, and talking to you was all I needed…"

"But kissing my bro would have been more comforting, right?"

He threw her a pillow and moaned, "oh gosh, Mickey is such a, a…"

"A repressed gay?" she suggested, taking a sip of coffee.

"Exactly!"

"When he realizes how much he loves and can't lose you, he'll come back begging to you."

"Can't wait for it," he shrugged. He looked sad and his skin was paler than usual.

"You'll see. Oh, I didn't ask you, wanna some coffee?"

"Yep, sure."

Mandy stood up and went into the kitchen. She knew that Ian and Mickey loved each other for a few days now. She expected it with all the glances they used to have towards each other, but Ian finally confirmed after she had insisted so hard. She didn't really know how to take it, having been a bit in love with Ian. But she wanted him next to her as a friend now, and she was supposed to wish happiness to her friends so…

His brother Mickey entered the kitchen with a sleepy look as she took the second mug in her hands.

"Who's here?" He said, glaring at the two mugs in her hands.

"Not your business," she answered back.

"Everything that happens in this house is my business, right?" he snapped.

"Okay, then I'm with a fucking gorgeous Gallagher redhead that I plan to shag with because he's so sad."

"What? Shut the fuck up! He's gay, you can't – why's he sad?"

"Not your business," she said again.

"Stop it, this thing is all my business," he said angsty, approaching her with a dangerous look.

"It's his, so ask him and that's all, now get off my way."

"Anyway I don't care. He could be whatever he wants to, I don't give a shit. I'll let you cry together while you'll be fucking."

She rolled her eyes and passed him. Mickey held back his fist and put it in his mouth to refrain a shout. Fucking redhead! He had already dreamt about him all night and now that he was so close to him, it was difficult to ignore him.

Ian, who had heard everything, contained a sob. His heart seemed to be torn asunder. When Mandy passed next to him he just said "bathroom" and she nodded.

He had to think by himself for some minutes. He locked the door and took a sit on the toilet. Everything around was dirty and he sighed. This whole neighbourhood was filthy and stinking, he was so hurrying to leave this shit…

He grabbed some magazines of the pile next to him and opened one at random: chick stuff. He put it down and opened another one. Something went beyond the edge of the magazine; he opened at this page and froze seeing the piece of paper.

It was a picture. A big picture of him. Just his face. He let off a nervous laugh. Why the hell was this picture in this magazine? He began to giggle even more. He perfectly knew why. And he was so happy about that. That was just a matter of time now. Mickey loved him. Mickey was scared and in denial but he knew he loved him and some day, when he's ready, he'll tell him.

The tears mingled with his fragments of laugh. Happiness was just at the street corner.

I hope you liked it, let a review to let me know!

The part with the picture is one of my favourites because this is one of the first time that we really see how much Mickey cares for Ian :) But obviously every time they appear I'm like ultra euphoric!
