I was ecstatic. I was excited. I was finally happy.
Ellie, Porter, and Anton completely flipped shit when they heard the news, and so did I. I paced around the room like a fucking idiot, bit my nails until they bled, and even cried a little bit.
I told Rob I would meet him downtown. I didn't give him a time, I just said before dark, so I wouldn't have to go through hell trying to get to my friend.
I quickly shoved some water bottles and like, 2 cans of food into my backpack. I knew I wouldn't be long, but hey- better safe than sorry, right?
I zipped up the bag, and looked around. Fuck. A weapon. I didn't really have anything to defend myself with... Except for an old, used, scraggly bat, that probably wouldn't last me. When I went on little adventures to find food, I never really looked for weapons. I looked for necessities. I guess weapons are necessities, but I mean like... I don't know, I was just too lazy to look for them.
I moved into the kitchen, and pulled one of the drawers open, and retrieved the sharpest knife I could find.
" We're done! " Eliie chimed, making me blink and turn around.
Oh no.
" What are you guys doing? " I asked, eyeing the bags they were carrying on their shoulders. I wanted them to be safe here. They're weren't coming with me, that's for fucking sure.
" Aren't we going to go meet up with Rob? " Anton asked, slipping his lanky arm through the other strap on his backpack.
" What? We? No you guys are staying here... " Sure it was a pretty shitty way to throw this in their face, but I didn't want to put them in danger. Sure I knew I was going to get shit from Porter, and ugly looks from Ellie, but I didn't care. They were staying here. Period.
" What? Why? I thought- " Anton stammered, while I shook my head.
" You thought wrong. Go put all the stuff you have in your bag up, and go draw or something... " I mumbled, before wandering back to my room. I thought my ways were completely reasonable. I didn't want them to get hurt, so I suggested that they stay home.
I could hear them mumbling shit about the whole entire situation, but I didn't care. As long as they listened to me, I was fine.
Swinging my black colored backpack over my shoulder, I opened my bedroom door, and exit the house.
Hopefully Rob wouldn't be long.
