NOTE: Well, I just noticed that there aren't really any stories that focus on Cornelius Fudge. Granted, he's not the most interesting character, but he still deserves something. I'm for the supporting and little-known characters. It's short so far, but if it goes over alright there'll be more. If not, I guess there's a reason no one writes about fudge, so please review!
Cornelius Fudge sat at his desk and stared hopelessly down at a stack of paperwork about two feet high. It was hard being Minister of Magic. He thought briefly that he should have listened to his mother when she told him he should grow up to be something respectable like an alchemist or an apothecary. But no. It was too late to think about that. He had decided when he was very young that he wanted to be Minister of Magic, and now that he had been elected this was no time to back down.
Reluctantly, he picked up the paper on top of the stack and began to skim over the contents of an important communiqué from the local government in Romania. Fudge rubbed his eyes and set the message down. He just wasn't in the mood. He allowed his mind to drift over the past few years.
The name "Harry Potter" was emblazoned in big red letters all across many of his most important memories. In the beginning it had been innocent enough. He was the hero of witches and wizards everywhere and now he would have the chance to attend school at Hogwarts, the best Britain had to offer. It seemed natural that he get the best. And, at the time, all thought of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named—Fudge shuddered just thinking the name—had passed from the minds of the wizarding community and all that was left was a name no one spoke.
But it wasn't long before he realized that this Harry Potter was going to be more trouble than anyone had expected.
