It was wonderfully warm that day. Dave and John were laying by the latter's pool, shirtless and wearing swim trunks. John had Dave's fingers entwined with his, and was gently swinging their hands back and forth.
"Egbert," Dave said, enunciating by tugging his boyfriend's hand.
"Mmhmm?" John replied, turning his head. Pink patches had shown up on Dave's skin, signalling they needed to re-apply his sun screen.
Dave sat up, his back facing John. "I'm a-burning." The sunscreen was tossed over his shoulder, back at John, who caught it easily. Squeezing out the appropriate amount, John set down the bottle and smoothed his hands over Dave's shoulders. The blond let out a tiny sigh, and he relaxed into his boyfriend's hands. Dave's skin was spft under John's hands, and he rubbed anywhere that would be a problem area, including his arms.
Leaning back, he said, "Front now." When Dave stood, he crossed to the side of his chair closer to John, sitting in front of him. John smiled at him and rubbed the remainder over the pale chest in front of him. Then he grabbed the bottle, applying a tiny bit to his fingers. Slipping off his sunglasses, Dave winked at John and noticed his cheeks flush a little bit.
When John started applying it to Dave's face, he said, "Don't swoon now, princess. I'm too slippery to catch you." John giggled, and pecked Dave's nose when he was done. Instead of letting John pull back, though, Dave grabbed his chin and pulled him in to kiss again. While kissing Dave, John wiped all of the greasy sunscreen from his hands before fitting them behind Dave's neck. Making a content noise, Dave's tongue slid across his boyfriend's lips and worked them open, his tongue meeting with John's. As their kiss deepened, pale hands danced their way up a tan chest, lightly raking nails on the way back down, eliciting a gasp from John. He felt a smirk against his lips as he was pulled into Dave's lap, straddling him.
"John baby," Dave whispered as his lips trailed down John's neck. When John didn't answer, he added, "Let's get dirty." He felt John nodding happily, so he stood, and John wrapped his legs around him. Gladly, the sunscreen had dried for the most part, so John didn't slip to the ground. He was tugging Dave's hair and groaning from the treatment he was getting on his neck.
Dave was thankful that John was light enough for him to carry, and bit and licked John's shoulder as he made his way across the yard. It had rained the previous night, and mud was making the ground slightly slippery.
Which was perfect.
John was never expecting it when Dave simply let him go, causing him to fall in an abnormaly large mud puddle. John was so shocked, he just kept looking from his mud-covered body to Dave, waiting for an explanation, an apology, something.
What he got was, "Yup. That's about dirty enough." Dave then turned and walked into John's house, leaving his boyfriend muddy and pranked in the back yard.
