Quiet

Night like this made it hard for her to sleep. She could hear the waves crashing on the shore, her senses heightened by the full moon that loomed brightly outside. She could smell the salt in the air. But most of all, she could feel the push and pull of the tides, calling out to her like the moon beckons the sea. Her whole body tingled with the energy of the moon and water.

The sensible part of her mind advised her to stay in bed and try to sleep. But the other part, lauder and compelling, commanded her to rise and journey out to the beach. She obeyed the latter voice and stalked out to the shoreline. She walked right into the water and finally felt at peace since she saw the moon that night.

She started with the basic waterbending moves, controlling the water around her, she then went into the more complex stances with ease, controlling the push and pull of the tides around her. She started to spar with and unknown opponent, creating a dance of steps and arms movements that were as smooth and controlled at the sea on a calm day.

Katara looked back towards the treeline to see a figure approaching. It was Zuko. Of course it was. She smiled when he stepped onto the shore, the water lapping at his feet. She asked him if he was going to stand there or come in and spar with her. He agreed with a smile and walked closer to her, undeterred by the tide.

Once the two were in their respective areas, they both assumed their starting stances and began to advance on each other. The movements became familiar and comfortable to Katara, like they've been doing this their whole lives. The full moon released it power unto her with every step and jab of the water. Katara was surprised that Zuko was able to stay upright for so long.

The firebender went down after a water whip to the ankle. Katara went over to investigate when he didn't get up after a few moments.

"Zuko?" She asked, looking around for him. When she got to the shore line, something wrapped itself around her leg and pulled her down. She was on her back with Zuko positioning himself on top of her. He smirked and she laughed out loud.

His face softened when she quieted down. He was so close. She could feel his wet hair on her skin and his breath on her face. He started to lower his face to her and she met him halfway, capturing his lips in a soft kiss. Their lips melded together with what seemed like perfect harmony and it felt like it lasted forever.

She smiled up at him when their lips parted. He smiled back and got off of her, offering his hand to her. She took it and stood up from the dry sand. The pair walked back to the beach house side by side, holding hands.

Night like this made it hard for her to sleep, but with Zuko next to her it came to her naturally.

Oh the cheesy writing for this one! Ugh, I hate that I'm still behind but I will get caught up this weekend, I swear upon it!

Remember to Smile :)
