A/N: The prompt was 'shopping.' I love the banter between Toph and Sokka, to be honest. Their interactions make me smile. I hope you guys like it! (PS, TITLES ARE HARD TO COME UP WITH.)

Shopping Trip

"I can't believe you dragged me out to go shopping with you," Toph complained (rather loudly).

Sokka pouted. "Who else was I going to ask? Bar buddies are shopping buddies, too, you know."

She was about to retort with something rather rude when the warrior let out a happy shout. "This! I've been wanting this scroll case! What do you think, Toph, doesn't look like it was made for me?"

"Oh, it's a perfect match," she said with a snort. He was too excited to pick up on her sarcasm.

While Sokka went to hackle with the merchant, she stood off to the side and picked at a scab on her elbow. "He's such a girl," she murmured, "buying things that 'go well' with him." But honestly, she liked him that way.

At the first sign of his return, she opened her mouth to comment on his feminine habits when something soft and warm fell on her head. "Huh?"

Scratching his nose, he said, "Well, we're going to visit Dad soon, so I figured you'd want something to keep you warm. I saw this hat and, thought maybe…." The rest of his sentence trailed off to embarrassed silence.

Eyes wide, Toph reached up and touched the knitted hat carefully. It was comfortable and soft--which was always a plus with her. Her fist connected with his arm. "I didn't need a hat, you know," she grumped. "But seeing as you spent money on this, I suppose I'll wear it."

(She later found out that the hat was multi-colored with a large poofball on the top; Sokka could not walk for a few days afterwards.)
