Dudley walked to the front door, where the mail was waiting to be opened. As he walked up, he saw a parchment envelope, and immediately knew what was going on. His eleven-year old daughter, Marissa, was a witch. He couldn't say that he was surprised. He had noticed that she could do some of the same things that his cousin used to do all the time when scared or excited.
"Marissa! Come here please! There is some mail for you!" Dudley yelled up the stairs to his daughter. She came running down the stairs to find her dad with the envelope, waiting for her to get down there and open it.
Marissa took the envelope from her dad and opened it. She read:
Marissa Shelby Dursley, we are happy to inform you that you have been accepted by Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Someone will be by your house soon to take you and your family shopping for your school stuff, as well as explain some things to your parents. Cordially, Hermione Jean Granger-Weasley, Deputy Headmistress. Harry James Potter, Headmaster, Order of Merlin 1st class, Head Auror for 15 years, etc. etc.
Marissa looked up at her dad. "Is this real? Not a joke?"
"No, it isn't a joke. My cousin went to that school when he was your age. He is the greatest person that I know. You haven't ever met him, but I also haven't seen him in at least ten years."
"Cool. Can I go to this school? Please, please, please, please? I really want to go!" Marissa begged. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Dudley went to the door and opened it. There stood a man with black hair, elegant looking muggle clothes, and emerald green eyes.
"Harry?" Dudley asked tentatively. "Is that you?"
"Yep, cuz. Or should I say, Diddydums." Harry said with a smirk. "Are you going to invite me in, Dudders?" Dudley glared at Harry, yet let him in. "I assume you know what I am here to do, so lets just get to it, then."
"Who are you, sir?" asked Marissa. "Are you my dad's cousin? The one I've never met?"
"It depends on who you are. If you are Marissa Shelby Dursley, then I am the Headmaster of the School you just got an acceptance letter to. If not, I am just a dude that is looking for Marissa Shelby Dursley." replied Harry.
"I am Marissa! Are you Harry Potter, sir?"
"Yes I am. Do you know anything about me or the wizarding world in general?"
"Not really, sir. Dad only told me that he had a cousin in the wizarding world and that his cousin had saved many people, himself included."
"Is this true, Dudley. You didn't tell her anything about my world except that I live in it?" asked Harry.
"Yeah it is, Harry. I didn't know what to say about anything, and I also don't know any of your history. I just figured it was safer than telling lies like my parents did. At least I didn't lie when I told about how her mother died, unlike how it happened with your parents." Replied Dudley.
