A/N/disclaimer: parody of Sk8er Boy by Avril Lavigne. I couldn't resist. The idea was really insistant it get out there into my journal at least. And then, though song parodies may or may not have an effect on one's credibility as a serious fanfiction author, I decided who cares? I'll just post this up here. So enjoy another pop song rewritten by a rabid phangirl to her beloved Erik.

Opera Ghost:

He was a boy, she was a girl.

Can I make it any more obvious?

He was a ghost, she did ballet.

What more can I say?

He wanted her. And she'd never tell,

but secretly, she wanted him as well.

But her childhood friend had love in his eyes

and swept her away to a status so high.

She said to the opera ghost, "I know how your story goes.

You'd conjure up love to make me stay.

But he fulfills all my dreams of wealth and nobility."

Fore, so was the culture of her day.

Not far from then, she sits at home,

Humming and glancing through El Epoque.

She reads those three words, and clutches her head.

Poor, unhappy Erik. So soon, he's dead.

So he's laid to rest. And some time goes on.

Daroga is visited by Gaston.

First comes the book, and then comes the film,

In more ways than one, the Phantom lived.

Many met the opera ghost. There were many forms he took.

He stretched from the pages to the stage.

He carries his broken heart that's not broken after all

'cuz he has his phans from every age.

Those Victorians missed out.

Well, tough luck: he's happy now.

A loving family of phans

this is how his story ends.

Those back there just couldn't see,

see the man that ghost could be.

There is more than meets the eye;

there is a heart that loves inside.

He's just a boy, and I'm just a girl.

Can I make it any more obvious?

He wished for a love to not see his face.

My eyes don't work anyway.

I met the opera ghost. Said, "I love your story, bro.

I'll meet you beneath a moonless sky.

Nah, I'm just kidding you. But my love it will be true.

Come into my dreams and you'll see why."
