This just popped into my head, so I decided to write about it.
Sorry if this is ooc, but it was just funnier this way.

It all started with a comment on his blog from Harry, a simple harmless comment. Or it would have been, had he not been living with the worlds only consulting detective.
"Wow johnny that is the most stupid thing you've done since you were in that Amarillo video"
John had replied to the comment and thought that was the end of it. That was until Sherlock got involved. He had asked John to pass him his laptop and started surfing, as he normally did when he was bred, but not yet bored enough to shoot the walls. Then from no where his voice pipes up "John what does Harry mean by the Amarillo video?" He asked in a confused voice.
John laughed at his confused expression, it was a rare thing to see on Sherlock.
"It was a thing we filmed in Afghanistan to have a laugh and keep the morale up," he replied "Have you ever heard the song Amarillo?" he asked
Sherlock gave him the Don't-Be-So-Stupid look and John laughed again. He perched on the arm of the chair that Sherlock was sitting on and pulled the laptop towards himself. He typed in Tony Christie Amarillo and clicked on the music video.
"Watch that, all the way through," John said, bending down so he could see the video too. Sherlock, for once, did as he was told and watched the video, frowning at John when he laughed at Ronnie Corbett falling off the treadmill. After the video had finished he turned to John.
"that all well and good, but it doesn't answer my original question," he said in an irritated tone.
John smiled and answered smugly, "Au Contraire, how can you understand the parody when you have not seen the original?"
He clicked on another video and watched as all of his army friends walked and sang along with the song. He watched Sherlock's face as he came onto the screen in nothing but underwear carrying a gun. Sherlock looked astonished, and John took pride at having put that look on Sherlock Holmes' face. As the video ended, and all the soldiers who took part came back onto the screen, Sherlock looked at John and smiled.
"you looked so young back then, a lot less troubled and more carefree," he said quietly
"It was only in 2008, I would have been 36 then, and what do you want me to do, start dancing and singing in my underwear around the flat?" John said while laughing
Sherlock looked completely serious as he replied, "yes if it puts that carefree look back on your face, its boring to watch you look depressed every day."
"I'll bear that in mind you pervert, you just want to see me with no trousers on again," John said with a teasing smile.
Sherlock winked and played the video again
"I don't understand why you would waste your time on making this video though," he said.
"I suppose it was to give the lads something to smile about, plus it was fun," John explained, grinning
Sherlock turned back to the video and smirked at john's part.
"you know, Sherlock. I wonder if we could persuade the officers at Scotland yard to recreate this or children in need," John wondered with a mischievous glint in his eye.
Sherlock laughed and thought about it,
"The game is on!" he exclaimed.
