A/N: What takes precedent over math class? Berto and Kat of course!
Rachel and Max had just returned from dinner. They were not happy, because they did not get to finish dinner, but instead had been interupted by a call from Jefferson Smith, who had an emergency call for them. The two had raced back to the mobile N-Tek quarters that Team Steel had currently been habitating (that big bus thingy).
Trying the door, Max found that it was locked, not surprising, and pulled out his key and unlocked the door. Rushing inside to get Berto and Kat, he and Rachel were stopped dead in their tracks by the sight that confronted them inside the van.
There seemed to be signs of a struggle. A vase was broken near the television and...there was a pair of boxers hanging form the ceiling fan. Rachel raised her eyebrows. "Really, do you HAVE to be such a slob?"
Max stared at the boxers and then said slowly "Those-aren't-mine."
Rachel rolled her eyes. "Then whose-"
The two looked at each other. All was quiet, and then they heard a thud from the back of the bus.
"Berto? Kat?"
Kat's head popped out of her "room". "Everything's fine!" she yelled in a voice that sounded a little panicky. "I'm just getting dressed!"
Max and Rachel calmed down until they saw Berto's head poke out of the same door. "Yeah, she's getting dressed!"
Max and Rachel stared, not quite understanding what was happening. A few minutes later, Kat came out the door with Berto close behind her. However, when she saw the looks on Rachel and Max's faces, she sighed.
"What's the point? We're going to be another half hour." With that, she took hold of Berto's arm, and dragged him back into her room.
