Catching fireflies.
Willow stared out the window at the lighting bugs flying around. She wished she was young again so that she could go out and run after the flying blinking lights.
When she didn't have to worry about vampires sucking her blood or random demon boys.
When everything was normal and her only problem was Cordilla. which was solved by the "We hate Cordilla club" .
Well, as normal as it could be. She wasn't sure if it was always like that, but at least she never had to worry… She didn't know that these things were real for from her nightmares.
She could tumble in the wet grass not having to worry was the dust really was made out of it. looking again as one flew up to the screen. The light so bright coming from such a tiny creature she wanted to grab it and run to her mother and show he the beautiful creature.
Her mom like always, wasn't home. She wanted the lighting bug to get loose in her bedroom so that she could find her cat's nose lighting up after he had eaten it. She wanted to sit and watch her mom act liked she cared as she begged to a jar to make a home for the bug.
She wanted to show it to Xander and let it tickle his hand so she could laugh at his giggling.
It was hopeless. She knew what she knew and she couldn't not know it. Not yet at least. She knew what went bump in the night and that her mom didn't care about much anymore.
She drifted off to sleep. Hoping that still somewhere on earth kids can still go out catching fireflies on a warm summer night.
