Hey peoples! I made another one shot! Yaaaaaaayyyy! And it's for something other than Inuyasha! Double yaaaaaayyyyy! Anyways, I had this planned out for Momiji, but I couldn't think of a plot for him, so it's going to be about Tohru instead (sorry Tandokude!). Well, anyways, ON WITH THE ONE SHOT!

Disclaimer: Now, if I owned Fruits Basket, I would be rich, rich I tell you! Filthy rich! But I don't (oh darn!).

-----------------------------------------

Tohru sat in her room, thinking. Just thinking. Thinking about what, you may ask? Well, just anything and everything. It may seem pointless, and it may not. But she was just thinking about anything and everything to keep her mind off other things.

Things are bad

And nothing's right

Now, Tohru does smile a lot, yes that's true, and she may act a bit on the dim side, but why? Why did she act so dim and so cheerful all the time? Tohru wiped a few tears she didn't know she shed away and buried her face in her pillow

I may laugh sometimes

But the pain is still there

The truth was, Tohru was literally dying inside. She was orphaned, and her "friends" only stay her "friends" because they promised her mom not to let anything happen to her. They don't protect her because they want to, they do it because they have to. There's a big difference.

My friends aren't real

Even though they may care

Not to mention all the work she had to do for the Sohma household. That didn't help her one bit. Tohru was literally dying inside, and nobody seemed to care. Yeah, sure, they act like they care, but none of it is true. Nothing is real.

It's only pity

I can see through to their souls

Tohru got off the bed and went to her mirror. What she saw made her gasp. Her face was pale, and her hair was frizzy and had split ends all over it. She checked her pulse; it was faint. So this would be it, Tohru had thought so many times.

What you see is only a mask

Nothing is real

Tohru made her way back to her bed and feebly climbed on it. She lay her head on the pillow once again, and started crying up a waterfall. Everything in her life was a fake. An illusion. Not real. Nobody cared for her, and nobody loved her, save her mom.

Friends, expressions…they're all fake

Everything is an illusion

So, as Tohru closed her eyes, she began to think all over again. It may have been hard to tell if someone cared for her or not, but Tohru now knew the answer. She knew what everyone thought of her. She now knew how everyone truly feels about her. So Tohru fell asleep with those last thoughts.

Does anyone care

I can't tell anymore

When someone would come in to try and wake her up for school in the morning, they would be completely baffled as to why Tohru wouldn't wake up. Tohru fell asleep, that night, knowing that that would be the final time she would be able to do so in this cruel, unforgiving, uncaring, living world, and she would finally be able to see her mother once more.

They say they'll take care of me

But I'll just end up on the street

So? How did you guys like it? I think it was a real good one shot in my opinion even if it was short. So, please leave a review. I'm going to make another one shot with Kisa soon too, just to let you guys know.
