The Adventures of the

Episode 39 "The Gap between Worlds"

Part 2

Now that we had healed Oakbark, we had to find what was making him sick. We gave a large supply of clean water to drink from until we were finished with our search (compliments of our Aquabeaks). Just getting to and dealing with Oakbark was the easy part, but now the real challenge had begun!

Theme Song

There were two things that Oakbark forgot to tell us about his roots, but we had already left so we had to learn it the hard way. We dug and dug until we finally reached another opening in which the root was in a large pool of a strange color which was being filled by a small fountain spout which was coming from the wall. We shot Doc and he turned the water back to clean, clear water, but there was another problem: the fountain spout was still pouring out sick water. I shot the Sonikin slug which shot a blast of healing energy and soon the spout poured out clean water. We headed back up to Oakbark, but he had some bad news for us. "Thank you for healing that root, but there are still dozens to fix" he said sadly.

Now we had a big problem, because Oakbark had already drunk over half the water which we had given him! We decided to split up and each of us would take 13 roots each (Oakbark told us that there were over 195 roots to heal!). Everyone had their own Crystalyns slugs, but only I had the Sonikin slug. So I told everyone "Make you way to each of the roots and heal the water that's already there, then I'll come later and shoot "Blaster" (my Sonikin slug) into the hole and cure the water. We all split up and everyone did as they were instructed and after a course of hours, all the roots and water were cured.

We all headed back to Oakbark who looked very happy (he didn't have a face, but his voice sounded happy). Oakbark looked very happy and healthy as well "You have all cured me from this dreadful disease, and as you reward, here is my closest friend who will serve the best he can" he said joyfully. He handed me a red slug with two wing tattoos on its back along with the Guardian slug symbol for the Enigma slug (the three eyes). Oakbark told us that it was capable of shooting metal blasts to a person's of something's mind and was able to control plants without killing them. It was called a "Vineblast" slug. I thanked Oakbark for his gift and we headed back up to Slugterra and told everyone what had happened and to show them our new slug.

People began to ask where the plant was trying to dig to, but I told them that for their own good, they should not know where. "Slugterra, you must all trust me on this. How long have I counciled and taught you?" I asked them. "Ever since you have arrived here with us" they replied. "And have I ever led you into error?" I asked again. Frustrated and knowing that I was right, they answered "No, every decision that you have made for us, has been either for our benefit or protection." Now that Oakbark was take care of we could now have some time to relax and gather back our strength and to clean up after all that digging. Ever since those 2 days, we travelled underground to Oakbark to see how he was doing and if he needed anything, but now more trouble would come from him, as long as we were there for him. Eventually I told my children, that when I would pass away, then they would have to take care of our tree friend along with their children to make sure that he was healthy until it was the other generation's turn to care for him.
