Mermaids

Well, this is my first Pirates of the Caribbean fic. Poem, I guess. Happy Reading.

Beneath the streaming waters blue,

We've tails from legends old,

But sailor, though your dream's come true,

All that glisters is not gold.

We sing our songs in luring tone,

Our scales, they glimmer in light,

But soon you see our fangs of stone,

And eyes of fiery spite.

No longer the image of love,

But dark and dangerous lust,

Beware our masks, we're not pure doves,

So hold onto thy trust.

Our true colours, they're hidden deep,

In our blood-lusting hearts,

And if you should so fall asleep,

From life you shall depart.

We've voices of the nightingales,

As we surround the fragile hull,

Then soon all's left is a silver trail,

No sign of remnants dull.

Across the seas, the wind has blown,

The memory of us away,

So when the younger sailors come,

Your role they will replay.

How did you like it? Rate and review please. Thanks, everyone!
