Just like that he was gone. I had a feeling deep inside me that I'd never see him again. He now existed only in the past and the distant future.

His house stood empty now. It was silly, but I walked up and rang the doorbell, knowing there would be no answer, only an echo through the empty house. Then something unexpected happened- the door swung open. "Keely!" I looked on in astonishment to see a familiar face. "Curtis! What are you doing here? Didn't they take you with them?" The caveman shrugged.

CRASH!

A familiar RV collided with the side of the house. My heart skipped a beat. And for some reason my first reaction was to hide.

The RV door opened, and Mr. Diffy leaned out. "Okay Curtis, into the time machine," he motioned with his arm for him to come. Curtis obeyed.

Just when Phil was about to leave me behind forever, I made a split-second decision and did something crazy, stupid, and probably dangerous.

I stowed away in the luggage compartment.

Ehh, not much so far.
